Ok, I have spent numerous hours trying to skill up my club and I am still very far from ever having it capped, let alone getting hexa strike. Well even when I do get into a skill up party, gaining skill is few and far between unless I am fighting tougher mobs, almost at the level I experience off of. When it comes to this tho, the mob is often difficult to kill and it ends up being more of an experience party where I continuously heal and rest and get maybe a coule of hits on the mob.

Well it occurred to me the other day I need to skill up on mobs that are higher level than and while walking through Meriphataud(sp?) Mountains, I saw a Ballista Match, maybe I can skill up while playing Ballista. This would be ideal for me since I could maybe find a friend willing to be my target. I could sub ninja, dual wield two very weak clubs and hit for next to no damage without ever having to worry about curing. It would be also very beneficial if the person was a rdm with stoneskin and phalanx so they would also never need to rest.

To my question: Is it possible to gain skill ups while doing ballista? I have yet to have the oportunity to join in a match so I do not know, but if you can this might be the ideal solution to players skilling up weapons.

I'm not a RDM, but this would be cool to test out! :lol: :lol:
 
I had the same problem when I tried to skillup my club. For the most part, I refused to join a skillup party if there wasn't some kind of refresh going, so that I didn't have to just sit back and heal the whole time.

I've never actually done ballista, so I'm not sure about whether you can get skillups there or not. But from what I understand, there's a lot of ranged attacking going on, so you might not be able to get many chances to melee.
 
I was hoping if I was going to do it, people would have to be nice enough to not actively seek me out. I know that's a big IF though. Most people would probably enjoy ruining something just to make someone else unhappy. :cry:

Maybe if it does work we all could use it as a means of skillup, but you know SE would catch on and nerf it immediately.

If we are on opposite teams, and we both set a POS to meat up, we just keep running till we reach it, hopefully losing others that want to follow. :lol: :lol: :lol:

This could work, you can skill up on me, while I laugh my ass off! Get me a pair of Stumbling boots, and any -EVA gear possible. :lol: :lol:

as a note, you dont get skillups in ballista. Lord i wish you could ~_~
 
Really? I asked someone else in game and they said you could. I guess the only way for me to find out is to try it and since I am underleveled on everything it shouldn't be that hard :(

And yes its from .Hack//Sign. I like alot of the lyrics from the game and I find it very fitting for the game :roll:

PS: Good anime if you have not seen it and even if you don't like anime you should see it since you play FF anyways. :D
 
I can almost gurantee you get no skill ups from Balista, I've done a couple level 40 Balistas as a THF, and currently my evasion is some levels below cap, believe me, it would have gone up with all the hits I've taken.

My marksmenship is also well below cap, and I've used Bloody bolts on other level 40 players with no skill ups.

Don't know if it is possible, but I've never seen it happen.
