ranger scavenge

I have made over 150k on scavenge. I love the ability since they made it a bit better. Once you hit the higher levels you really start getting some good stuff like demon arrowheads and such. Seems like nobody remembers to use it though lol. Everytime I use it, I see every Ranger around me use it. Use it guys, it adds up!

So ... it's possible to get a stack of firesand from one scavenge?? O_o;
 
No, but if you're farming several expensive stacks over a long period of time, or farming several days in a row *Read: Leaping Boots* it can add up to a stack.

Sometimes Firesand pops like crazy. Make sure and keep on top of that scavenge timer. Think it's what... five minutes?

1 hour farming = 12 chances to 'scavenge'
 
I looked briefly but i didn't see any lumber under there and i was under the impression you could scavenge logs or lumber (i swear i've seen arrow wood come up before) is this database totally complete?
 
No it is made up of info sent in by players from the Allakhazam board. You can pretty much dig up arrowwood and ash just about everywhere. As these are the main wood pieces used in ammo making, it makes sense. I dont think you can dig up Yew or anything else used in ammo production, but it is possible.

does the type of ground ur standing on affect the items that u might get? (like standing in a puddle of water compared to like... a rock or sumthing)
 
Hmm good question. In my time of scavenging, I have always made sure I was standing on ground you can dig on in theory. I never do it on a rock for instance, just doesnt seem right somehow. Always sand, dirt, or grassy areas. Not sure if it matters though...

The ground texture doesn't have any effect that anyone has been able to prove; except in the case of the Ranger AF2 quest where you have to scavenge inside the pond to net your old earring.

I've scaveneged up stuff on every non-town-textured ground I have access to. Yes, I'm odd. I still scavenge in front of the Jeuno AH's at random, too. I KNOW there are Othinus Bow's just lying around everywhere. *shakes fist*

The day the update came down that affected scavenge was wicked. Every single time you scavenged, you dug up something awesome. Two days later they scaled it back so you still "find nothing" a good percentage of the time.

I think I'm somewhere around my 6th stack of scavenged Firesand.

And Spielman is the best Ranger EVER for his time and dedication to his site.
