GOD I love and hate this f**kin country. Just looking at recent and previous news I wonder why all of US an US citizens even put up with the crap spewed out by our government. It wasen't till about a year ago that I realized that we are all basically prisoners in our own society THE USA. We pay taxes on everything and we pay other curency costs to the government just for living with in the borders and what does the government give us in return. The government is suppose to give us protection health and longevity, We have the resorces for it. What do we get instead. A country filled with people who all have easy access to guns which are the true WOMDs, branches of the govenment don't even want to cooperate with eachother, if they did would the terrorist attack of 9-11 have happend. I know its not just me and I know that somethings have got to change dramatically and drastically. We can start with abolishing banning all fire arms with in our country. When the so called "Fore Fathers" of this country said we had the right to bare arms, I am sure they were not refering to the WOMDs that are portable and that people can hold on to or conseal within plain sight.

Anyone else feel like Flamin this subject or me for bringing it up goahead
 
I was going to quote the part in the rules where it talks about how all flames are supposed to be FFXI related but that doesn't seem to be in the rules anymore so um... have fun with this topic I guess?
 
PS. If polititians would get their head out of there own asses to see what is really going own in the country do you think we would be at this pretend for giving all the live of our real soldiers. I seriously am pissed we are sending people to fight in another place for no reason at all giving their lives I vain. Not to protect us, but to line the polititians pockects. Giving their lives believing they are helping us when all they are doing is forfilling the whimsical dream of GWB. Somtimes I feel pathetic just calling myself an american.
 
although im not against it as i am a Ron Paul supporter i think that this may just be another half-assed Vote Ron Paul thread.

IMO, anything the military can freely carry around while on US Soil, Civilians and Citizens should have access to firearms equally as devistating. The Right To Bear Arms is The Right To Protect Yourself From a Tyrannical Government. Limiting Citizen firearm power to simple rifles that are only suitable for hunting these days, shotguns, and pistols is giving said potential tyranny the ability to flatten any resistance. When we're stuck with cap guns and water pistols, all it'll take is a new party with a fake political agenda. Now, I'm not saying it'll actually happen, but thats why the right to arm yourself exists.

Just because a very small minority abuses said right, the rest of the country shouldn't be punished for. Instead of Gun laws making it harder to obtain a firearm(because it just doesn't work,) Gun laws should have unnecessarily drastic punishments for breaking them. EX: Armed robbery with your $350-700 pistol? $500,000 fine and 50 years in prison.

That said, we need prison reforms. Keep the cushy prison programs around for light offenders(Multiple DUIs, etc,) but those who commit violent crimes should be thrown in a brick and mortar box, a small window for some fresh air, and given only bread and water. No excercise time, no TV time, no Books.

lol, I was at my grandfathers gas station a few days ago, and saw a stack of Ron Paul papers there on the counter with reasons why he is a good candidate... I immediately thought of you, lol
 
Oops, Id also like to add, although the US does lack EXTREMELY in many departments, the country itself is doing a fine job of protecting itself. I know we want it to be BETTER and everything, but all in all, were in good hands, even if they are some greedy hands...
 
Before some hippy starts whining about inhumane conditions in regards to my prisons comment - in my opinion, the moment you threaten someone elses human rights, yours should be stripped away. Obviously, cases such as self defense and manslaughter would differ, but a person who willfully engages in an action that would harm or kill someone else has shown they're nothing more than a lower lifeform, and should be treated as such.

I think I am obligated to respond to this, so here goes...

I agree.
 
The great thing about Ron Paul, is that he actually stands a decent chance of winning. Neither the Democrats, nor the Republicans, have put forward any worthwhile candidate yet. But he does a good job at putting his name out there on his own.

wow that is a very 2 dimensional argument, as my side may seem as 2D to you as well. fins for having a gun is extremely retarded. I'll just walk into court and shoot the guard and the judge and everyone in the court room. problem not solved because he had a gun. OK OK lets say I had to defend myself against a person who had a gun which if it were up to me he wouldnt, and I decide to pull my gun on him he shoot, but wait he has a full automatic and kill eveyrone with in my general direction. Or we can just look at the new from the last 7 - 8 year of all the mass destruction caused in the country alone due to the second amendment. Just a month ago in texas a citizen following his constitutional right was driving and crached on the side of the road he then killed 2 people who came to help him with his injures and wounded 6 others and then blew his own brains out. So as one sided as my argumen may sound to you it sound extremly benifitial to me
 
You aren't going to stop people commiting crimes with guns from getting guns. It's been shown time and time again that laws that ban firearms don't remove them from the streets. The only thing it does is make them cost more for those that would go out and buy one in the first place.
 
sorry for sounding so aggressive i am alil tired and I do agree with how to handle people who are caught with guns but what will it all really stop. I am sick and tired of looking at the news and seeing another multiple killing or hostange situation or some homicidal maniac
 
So lets say the government wants to convert to a military state, or they want to round up (x group) of citezens and send them to be gassed. Since we have guns we can revolt against injustices like that. Or things like taxation without representation and forced religion.

We are allowed to have guns because this country was formed based on a revolution that couldn't have taken place without them. I'm with skaw on the whole idea of harsher penalties for violent crimes commited with firearms, but I would probably go one step further and add unlawful possesion of a firearm to that list of crimes that need harsher punishments.
