Just because they say liberal with a sneer doesn't mean it's a bad thing. Liberalism is an ideology, philosophical view, and political tradition which holds that liberty is the primary political value. It would take a conservative to sneer at liberty.

And yet, the media is supposed to be without bias. And it's not, sadly. It takes AP reports to find unbiased news, and you've got to be careful with those even. Both sides lie, paint inaccurate pictures, selectively report the news they want you to hear, and distort the truth to serve their own ideologies.

It would take a liberal to put ideology before truth.

Advocating rape is bad. Making a satirical article that advocates rape is tasteless. Making a bad satirical article that advocates rape is a good way to lose your job. If you're going to make an incredibly tasteless joke, at least have the skill to pull it off.

I was referring to how the article states that "rape has benefitted people in history" being highly arguable, not his flat-out saying how rape is good; that part I actually found to be absolutely horrible, and whether he meant it as a joke or not (which we'll never know), I personally didn't find funny at all.

Much like saying "Hitler has been of some benefit to people in history" is highly disagreeable (i.e. he was a tyrant but he discovered many medical things...though by horrible methods.)

I know no one's gonna not-commit a crime due to peer pressure saying it's bad, come on.

actually it doesn't, i used to be in the STARS program when i was in high school, and one of the things they advocated instead of sex was mutual masturbation....not sure how that wouldn't lead to sex but w/e, i didn't ask questions, i just put it on my college applications....anyway

this attempt fails horribly, apparently somebody's been listening to Carlin and thinks they can do the same thing. "Social experements" from the majority of my experiences with them meant only to shock the masses to the extreme so that the experementor can get a knee-jerk reaction from them. Then giving him the oppertunity to "analyze" the information and call everyone a hypocrit afterwards.

One of the good examples of a "social experement" that i've seen is the Pen and Teller petition to ban dihydrogen monoxide. if you haven't seen it look it up on youtube, it's actually pretty funny...anyway, in regaurds to the OP, good idea, horrible execution.

Freedom of speech is great as long as you're not forcing your opinion down someone else's throat. As in, I have the right to say what I want, period, as long as you have the ability to not listen to me.

If I want to preach that sex with children is good, that's my right.
If a teacher wants to tell elementary school students that George W Bush is a great or bad president, that's not right. They have no choice, they are forced to be there.
