This fall already?
Wow, I expected like next year at the earliest.
They release a full game every holiday. They're always great but wonder what they'd be with twice the dev time.
I've never felt cheated by the amount of content in the games(12-16 hours of gameplay on first playthrough is great for a platformer), especially because I always play through at least twice. Tools of Destruction was the only one in the series that I feel was a bit of a let down, and it was entirely because they drastically toned down the weapon, which is really what makes the game. The writing is great(comically, not drama-wise), the levels are well designed and so are the enemies; but the weapons for the most part, sucked. This is my biggest issue with R&C. There is too little in each game and they are released too close to each other. For a game that looks good but with such little visual driven content, why cant the game be massive at the expense of longer dev time. It always feels to me as if its just a simple recipe for success that ND runs back to for the dough. Cant blame em i guess. I am just a consumer and want more as always.
EDIT: Reread and it felt like a very negative post. I dont mean it so much that way.. The games are good and serve their purpose.. They are fun. But with a dev like ND who is allways held so high i expect something i never get in a R&C game.
Also do i mean Insomniac instead of ND?
So it's more you wish the game was longer so you'd enjoy it longer? I can see that, I finished tools of destruction about 2 days after I got it; and I wished there was more to do other than farm skill points. Its not so much i feel cheated after a R&C game because they are good. I just want more. The game demands so little in power because of the art style, which i do like.. So i want more then what i always get from a R&C game. I would enjoy a visual and gameplay change to weapons as they leveled.. You mentioned there was coop in R&C? I never knew that... Maybe that would boost this game up for me. It could be so fun just destroying everything with a friend..
Imagine R&C with Resistance level online - coop and versus. It'd be great. Might as well give us coop too, not a game about balance anyway.
