On the contrary... it really doesn't.
Between the two of us (Eleib and I) we have enough braincells to equal one full-fledged admin, almost. We do not however have the amount needed to run a domain and forum. We can fix, we can change, we cannot father. If shit hit the fan here we'd be scratching our monkey asses wondering wtf is required in a database reconverge mega-trust domain link policy restore onion.
Reeve's absences bother me much less now because we have the rights to fix most of the issues ourselves and rarely need to consult Big Red.
I'm in no position, nor do I have the desire, to run QCDN. If I remember correctly from one of our megathreads in this forum, nobody else was stepping up to the plate either. So if Reeve goes away then - as of right now - so does QCDN.
There are enough people here that are capable of true administration of the entire website, and given the blunders that there have been at Reeve's hands, it calls his advanced administration skills into question as well.
The only thing that remains an issue is finances, which to be perfectly honest, perplexed me from the start. The reason Reeve would take on a money sink that he has no real interest in has been bothering me from day one.
I will admit that it's definitely been better, with a lot more happy endings now that there are two people who give a shit with admin rights. The key idea, in my mind, would be for you two to operate under the assumption that Reeve doesn't even exist.
Either way, if there are things only Reeve can do, I think he should resign himself to only those things, and stop imposing anything else upon us. Again though, this is called into question by "I don't think you can change reputation views" and "Oh, I'm just changing the theme temporarily".
Things are looking up either way, but there are still a few minor snags, most of which are the result of a person who never gave a shit being in the top position here.
The only way QCDN will die when Reeve leaves is if he decides to be an ass by quitting and keeping the domain to himself. Otherwise please don't underestimate the community here.
