Rdm>Blu PROOF!

BLU has a gaze silence, I'm pretty sure Gaze ignores shadows. RDM loses.

Checkmate

diaga , bind, gravity, paralyze, silence, slow etc. or w/e. 1v1 fight id go with a diff subjob other than nin anyway. In the end it mostly depends on the player.

diaga? you dont wanna sleep?

Wouldn't need to, plus diaga doesn't last long. Rdm is pretty powerful vs any job solo.

Thats just the point...so is blu

Among other things. Sorry Red Mages, En~ spells doesn't make up for the two growth level difference BLU has over you in melee. You'd be forced in to hit-and-run nuking.

But wait. BLU has Amplification, so that's hindered. Frightful Roar, more or less, cancels out Protect IV. Voracious Trunk and Geist Wall can pick apart and steal your buffs, such as Phalanx, Shell, Stoneskin, and your precious Refresh.

After that, all thats left for the BLU to do is corner you and leave you hurting.

Blu storyline said they risk their bodies to learn the spells too...maybe I can go emo with my blu macroes =D

Cut my life in to pieces, this is my..... sickle slash???

I'm getting pretty excited over this, I think that a 3 or 5 match vid should be recorded Rdm versus Blu no items, no subjob, just your natural job abilities.

Blu's abilities are pretty spread out over the lvs in clumps I'm thinking 60 cap to get the main elements.

Everyone tends to use Poison pots so I really don't bother with sleep, Skaw you forget that the skill levels also affect performance, the literal player experience and game elements such as enhancing skills which affect barspell potency and duration if afflicted with a status effect ie silence. The match would be easily determined by who gets those lucky spells off first. Blu spells are pretty quick, Rdm isn't far behind either with theirs.

Subjobs would make it too easy to make the matches undecisive.

RDM is equal to BLU imho=P

I could scrape up some lv 30 gear and take you on sometime Tyrath, you'd have to record; I never was good with that stuff. Lv 30 cap no sub no items

RDM may have barsleep. But BLU gets a rather convenient Resist Sleep trait combo for PVP. Yawn and Magic Fruit.

Not to mention, Pinecone Bomb is equal in cast speed as Sleep 1. All it really depends on is who gets in whos range first. And considering a RDM needs buffs to survive, it's waiting game for the BLU.

Also, if a BLU manages to get him/herself an Deadalus Wing in 75 cap, instant lose for RDM. Self-Light/Fusion/Liquefaction with a Heat Breath/Self-Destruct burst.

Blu is limited by their number of the spells they can equip, barsleep and barspells don't take much time to pull off, as much time or less than a stun really with our FC3 and with hat FC4.

Your saying Pinecomb bomb is equal to the cast time of Sleep 1? That is with FC subtracted right?

Any job is pretty vulnerable without a buff, cocoon, feather barrier, metallic body. Stuff you want to pull off before you enter the ring:) Considering these are two mages then you definately want some defense behind your back.

Seems like we are still matched :D

Thats why I said it was a convenient trait combo. It's two spells you'll most likely have set in the first place.

Waiting for your opponent to make thier move will trump fast cast. Since they'll enter range before they have the ability to react to it. No amount of reduction in cast speed will help with human reaction time doing that.

And you're kidding yourself if you think Fast Cast 3 + enhancement will bring a 2.5 second cast time in alignment with a 0.5-1.0. Thats why Blue Mage would win. Everything they'd use to best a RDM is because of the low cast times. Fast Cast is no use when it can't keep up.

Eh? We didnt say anything about waiting for the opponent to take the first move. Its just a matter of who is lucky enough, hence mutliple matches and not just one.

FC is what makes rdm unique, its why some 75 blms sub it, just having the /rdm subbed makes a big difference on when a spell can be casted, and of course the slightly higher int score lol.

So Pinecomb bomb is .5-1.0? Can't beat that. Only 16 spells I think you can have max at 60.

I assume that the blu will have auto regen, and like you said resist sleep, at least. 4 spells out of the way 12 slots left right?

Problem with Resist sleep is just that, isn't that the same effect of Barsleep?

Barsleep- Gives slight resistance against anything that induces the effect of sleep, shortens the duration of the status effect if afflicted.

If it is it takes more to get the same effect if Resist sleep assuming that it grants the same protection as barsleep

This suggests more flexibility for the Rdm:) I think I hit all of your points, have to look again. Hmm...

Blu has to be quick as well to fire spells off as well, seems like a fight decided by the macro mashing XD

It's like you're not even reading what you post.

as much time or less than a stun really with our FC3 and with hat FC4.
Thats what I was referring to. Not Pinecone Bomb, but you claiming Fast Cast can make Sleep as fast as Head Butt, Frypan, and the billion other stuns.

Nah I just don't explain myself well.

When I said stun I meant the spell Stun, sorry as in barspells can be pulled off in that amount of time. A bit out of context, since i was referring to barspells only.

It happens, sorry about that^^;

RDM vs BLU would be great. RDM has long range silence, but how long range IS a BLU's silence? If i remeber correctly, its just as long ranged, thus who ever hits with it first would likely win. Sure, both jobs have greats buffs and debuffs (can not WAIT for bad breath!) but those all need MP to use. Both jobs can dispell, the only thing that RDM has going for it is refresh, and BLU can set up auto-refresh for 2 less MP/tic. If there was no silence availible, BLU would easily win, no matter what level. Otherwise, it all depends on who gets silence off first (and gets it to stick, a'course)

To be fair, I already stated that BLU could jack said refresh, and the RDM would be SOL.

1 on 1, dispelling a RDM's Refresh will do little in the short battle.

RDM's are the ace's at Enhancing Magic skill. A BLM's Blizzard IV isn't even life threatening. Also RDM's have very high defense, so protect spells isn't needed much at all. (Even the RDM's AF is just below the PLD's and is considered heavy armor)

If a BLU cannot effect their target from long range the RDM can take advantage of that with gravity, and elemental spells. This would also mean planting silence on the BLU, and Dispel any buffs the BLU has.

When playing solo the RDM does not miss much when they swing. If Melee DMG was outputing 45 DMG it wouldn't hurt to have an enspell up that would add an additional 17 DMG for an average of 62 DMG per swing in this case. If a BLU and a RDM were going at it with Kraken clubs this would only magnify the outcome.

It's all about who get's who first, the BLU can beat the RDM if the RDM does not follow the precautions to dealing with BLU. But the RDM will always have the chance to strike first.

I can't record anything Khidir >.> I play best on ps2 ;x And I'd rather not do anything at lvl 30. Shows nothing about the jobs =P

First time i did PVP it was capped at level 30, I killed a Ninja with ease as a RDM.

I have seen BLU's perform at those levels, and i think the RDM would be in great danger at level 30 against a BLU.
