Rdm

get a wal-mart turban and use the water you gain doing the quest as well.

I thought that until I saw the 'as well'. Possible I misinterpreted, if so my bad.

I wonder if he means lolrdmcondomcap.

Gear setup Khid? And how did it get to that? What did you start off with that run?

if i have time after work(8ish CSTpm)I'll take screenshots of my gear and post it

my gear esp in the mind department is far from being complete however

atm iirc no food (crimson jelly)

+25 mnd

+33 int

+18 elemental

+20 enfeebling

mp set without food and no sj- 602

mp set after crimson applied-689ish?

Turban is 75...

Good for you. The point wasnt to actually wear the turban. it was to get medicine that you would endup with no matter when you did the quest eventually anyway.

5% hp and mp back per water. once you complete the turban quest that gives 10 waterfor getting up to half your mp and hp back if you use them properly and unlike hi either it only has a 1 second cast time which make spamming them when you need them easier.( hi ether apears to have a 4 second recast)

as for regaining hp. a hi potion takes 2 seconds to use each vs 1 second on the water. so one can get the same effect as 1 hi potion during the same amount of time using 2 water and get mp back without resorting to using another medicine that might waste valuable time.

EDIT: I was going to add something else onto the original sentence and forgot what it was then forgot to delete "as well"(or my damned pc decided to move the cursor around again on it's own)That's one of ym theories. the other more likley theory is that i ws responding to neisan sggesting khid use mulsim.
eg.
Nei: you should bring some mulsim
Khaj: you should do the walmart turban quest so that you can get some water as well.
Jamal: TURBAN IS 75!%&

mithra is where it at:wink:

Think about it even the fomor RDM are mithra.

Here why they are good
1) decent mp and hp unlike just mp jump by taru but then left with low hp pool that you have to place hp gear on just to balance it.
2) dex, agi very nice for soloing
3) cute factor 10 and unlike taru you can see all the features on gear
4) versatility

Though if you don't like being the cute kitty then hume will be you next best bet

forgot to add neisan

that was actually my first time taking him on at 66 this was the easy trial, I just wanted a few good laughs and did quite decently against him (slept him 5/6 times) and nukes fairly well (2 stone IIIs).

i'm sure you can tell which sleep he did resist before i wiped (lasted 6 mins in there though!)

time for work...

The easy way, where you aren't dependent on sleep, is running in chainspell (dispel if you see him cast shell) and nuke till you have no mp (enough to cast sleep2), sleep2 or just convert if you threw on stoneskin and repeat. They key is to make sure he does not have shell up.

Turban is 75...

75 to equip, not obtain... In addition to the Walahra Water gained from the coin trades to use for the fight.

Edit: Khajit beat me to it while I was sifting through reading more. And Jamal corrected himself already. ;P

I'm just uh here as another Elvaan RDM. ;D

I'm w/DarkMagnus, like the job and for me it's more of a utility, get shit done for my other jobs thing.

Playing it high intensity for longer drawn out merit parties just burns me out on the job though.

Nah...if you're 800/800hp and 1/601mp when you Convert, you're gonna drop to 1/800hp and 601/601mp. Sortof why having balanced HP/MP is important because having way more HP than MP is wasting potential on Converts.
this is a lie, please recheck this theory you have.

Also, I'd ignore the whole "A perfect RDM can do anything and everything in a party and always be just in time for convert" thing people preach of. Between enemies getting in stray hits in addition to random potential links or even just odd party setups (or flat-out bad party members), the odds you're able to do everything a RDM is capable of doing in a party, especially without resting like some many "uber" RDMs brag of doing, is honestly slim to none.

if your nuking you suck ass, if your main healer and your melee are taking that much damage the party sucks just disband. If at 75 in a merrit party, a ballad II once in a blue moon is more than enough for me to sustain mp/convert ratio long as the melee arent dumb and help each other tank. i could see any race besides taru that doesnt actually work at keeping a ballenced hp/mp pool having issues with it maybe though.

Convert makes you switch your current HP and current MP. If new MP is greater than max MP, then new MP = max MP, and ditto for HP. (In other words it switches them, but still limits you to your max.)

So yes, if you were 800/800 HP and 1/600 MP, then your new HP would be 1 (your old MP was 1), and your new MP would be 600 (your old HP was 800, but your max MP is 600 so you can only have 600 MP rather than all 800: you're not allowed to have 800/600 MP after all). So you'd end up at 1/800 HP and 600/600 MP. Thus "wasting" 200 potential MP.

Whereas if you did some gear swapping so you had, say, 750/750 HP and 1/740 MP, then you'd end up with 1/750 HP and 740/740 MP (with a mere 10 MP "wasted"). Then you burn away 140-ish MP on, say, Cure 4'ing your HP back up and using stuff that doesn't require gear swaps for effectiveness (say, a Haste, a Refresh, and a Dia 2). Then you can go back to your normal gear with 800 max HP and 600 max MP.

None of this stuff should be news to you, you do have a 75 RDM in your sig, so I do find it curious that you'd claim that Convert works in some way other than how it actually does.

Have you seriously not figured out how Convert works after having access to it for 35 levels? People don't go trying to balance their HP/MP out for the sake of having identical numbers, you know.

Also, knock off the crybaby generalizations. I'm quoting what people think the perfect RDM is, which would be a RDM who does every duty a RDM can in a party. The way healing works and the way playing as a nuker works is counterproductive however, so such thing as a "perfect" RDM just doesn't exist, unless they have a nigh-godlike party and just about every endgame piece of gear they could ever get. But then, if the party is so good that they have just that much spare MP on the side, the odds their nukes are even needed to help killspeed is pretty much nil anyways.
