Re-(Install) Problem

Hey all,

Not sure if this goes here, but I am sure it will be moved if it doesn't. I just got a new pc and I am reinstalling FFXI on Windows XP. I installed the whole game, but when I tried to open POL or FF I get a error code from Windows, just stating there is a problem.

Anyway, I uninstall the whole game again and reinstalled POL Viewer and tried it again, and I get the same error code.

Has anyone else had this problem? And if so, please help, I don't have any idea on what it could mean, nor what is wrong.

Is it XP or Vista? It's strange that a new system would come with XP rather than Vista.
 
Yes, it is XP, I know it is not normal, but I did not want Vista yet. I have a feeling it is a problem with my OS, b/c I just installed POL Viewer on my laptop and it worked fine.

Any ideas of what I might try.

None I'm baffled my FFXI discs worked on every laptop and PC it's been installed on.
