The closest I get to watching reality TV is MXC....and Iron Chef, but I don't think those fit in the reality TV category....

Go Babaganoosh!!!! :P

i think ppl have run outta ideas and have too much money to give away.........some of those reality tv games are just ridicoulus and the winner gets an insane amount of money for doing it! (ie those who wants to marry a millionare, the bachelor/bachelorette, the swan, my fat obnoxious wedding - or whatever its called....kinda shows)

although some of those shows can be quite funny/interesting like Fear Factor, the simple life...

i dont like all reality TV shows but i like some,

survivor: put 18 people on an island and watch them nearly die of starvation while the hosts sucks down cheesburgers. what could be better tan that

the amazing race: send 24 r7unning around the world, why? because we want to watch them screw up and get pissed at each other, and the challanges o the challenges are great, here let me grab on to this stick chained to the back of this bull, let itrun me around a dirt+mud+pie (you know what i mean) so we can get a little flag. woo0oot!

fear factor: ok, im gonna eat these giant 3 inch bugs for a thosand dollars like the indigestions and those bugs and the blood and the parts like pig snout, grinded bones, brian, tounge, heart, liver all the good stuff, is gonna make you feel on the inside and when it comes out  ya, same expression i'd have

pretty much, the reason reality TV shows like this rock is because people like to see other people suffer and that makes them feel supirior, i think it might be nature, or it might just be the culture we all grow up in, but, why stop a good thing

I don't really care for so called "reality" tv shows.. I used to watch MTV's The Real World.. like when they had the Seattle season, but now its all focused on getting everyone drunk and having them screw each other and fight every 10 minutes. Why dont they just call this show Collage Co-ed F**kfest Knockout.

The only "reality" tv show I thought was pretty neat was The Joe Schmo Show. I liked how everyone was an actor and the only one who wasnt in on it was 1 guy. I found it fun to watch the actors stay in character and deal with the guy who was the random unplanned person. I loved where they were doing the sumo thing and the guy went berserk. That show was about the only one that I liked recently.

Thats right Ken. Bill is a 26 year old can greaser from Moosejaw Saskatchewan.

thats the only time i have ever heard anything about canada on MXC :P still love that show

I really have come to hate all "Reality" TV. Like posted earlier, they have just run out of ideas. When they first started they were ok...not so bad...but now there is not a drop of Reality in them what-so-ever. It just annoys the hell out of me.

I do enjoy Fear Factor and MXC but I don't consider them reality TV, they're more along the lines of game shows. :D

BACK REALITY TV!

/em holds up a cross and backs away slowy, chanting anti-evil prayrs

American Idol.. hah, I do like that show. I almost forgot it was Reality TV.. I tend to think of it more like a gameshow since it is a competition.

I have laughed my butt off so hard at some of the people that just go on there thinking they can sing and then they sing, thinking they are awesome, but in reality they sound about as good as my cat puking up a hairball. That show is good.. untill they are done picking the people who make it to the 1st round. Then it just sucks with all the singing.. and pop music crap. I like the failures.. that's where the entertainment is really at!

i honestly believe reality tv is the number 1 contributor to the dumbing down of america. what happened to good writing, good acting or a plot for that matter. i know its reality so its supposedly "unscripited" but come on!

the inner workins of a hair salon? people eating fried bull penis?
(insert mindless premise here) it scares me to see a nation of people hanging
on the decision by a man who speaks horrible english (read:ebonics) on whether a young kid can sing good enough. american idol has spawned some of the worst crap this country has ever seen. ex: the kelly and justin movie.
im embarrased just to walk past the thing in the video store!

and these concepts are nothing new. japanese tv has been exploiting stupidity in their "reality shows" for years. i know because i have them on tape. I have a show where they pay people to have their eyes surgically altered to look caucasian and one where they pay a man to light off firecrackers in his hands! at least thats amusing. i could honestly care less
whether things are gonna work out for the latest crop of young, beatifull
people in the house no-one could ever afford sponsored by MTV.

Im done ranting just my last 2 gil.

I hate most reality tv, but for some stupid reason, I enjoy watching "Amish in the City" on UPN. I just find it so goddamn funny, I dunno why.

Asiamise...that was just....beautiful! I'm Canadian myself but I think it applies to all of North America. Most of these shows seem to only strive to bring out the worst in human nature...I think it's really sad that people seem to love it. The only thing I had a problem with your post was your reference to ebonics. Ebonics isn't bad English...think of it as more of a dialect. That's just the linguist in me coming out :)
