Really??? Part II

not my thread but...

The guy got really pissed when I asked if he was an rmt. idk make your on conclusions.

his reason for wearing the windy ring was "I'm a patriot"

Yep, he's sure patriotic for windurst wearing HQ2 bastok and san d'oria gear.

Yet more proof that people just don't boot people for stupid gear anymore. Or for failing miserably at the job like our WHM did tonight.

No you misunderstood Mai he's a WORLD PATRIOT He's against those good things that NM's make like leaping boots. Has to be able to be synthed can't drop off a beast. lol

P.S.
I'M WITH YA BRO VIVA VANA'DIEL!!!

With Pt members like that you're able to just up and disband. You need to show people that you won't stand for shit like that. Soon, if enough people do it, idiots might just stop being idiots.

ITT we take pics of gimps equipment, write down names, and post a sticky. Watch out for these failures.

Then again, what credibility do we have as this forum to prevent others from teaming up with these failures? I can recall numberous attempts to "Ban" or "Flag" some gimp or gilbuyer or botter, but does that stop anyone? No. Because we as a forum are not the police, nor dictators of people's greed of that which is called "EXP."

The only good that can come out of it, is some good laughs, and the shaking our heads.

Also ITT moar shoop da whoop as so:

You're reading way too much in to this, Krono. You're perceiving a movement to begin an un-enforceable "blacklist," which we would unrealistically expect people to honor. There is none. I'm not sure where you got that idea, but nobody is advocating anything like that.

A few have mentioned keeping a simple list of "party with at your own risk" names, but that's very different. It recognizes free will, and is meant more as a warning system than any sort of "law" or punitive measure. It's completely reasonable.

What's more, threads like these could go a long way in encouraging the more timid among us to have the social testicles necessary to save themselves a bad experience, and summon the courage to disband/boot when it is warranted. Nobody's going to end up here for running out of food, for having a subjob broken by one level, or having slightly outmoded equipment ... only gimpage of the most obscene variety (like that detailed in this thread) is even worthy of mention.

In spite of that, however, somewhere, somehow, many folks seem to have gotten the idea into their head that it wasn't socially "acceptable" in MMOs to address severely poor playing head on. Nobody wants to "start anything," so not only will they be afraid to even bother explaining to a level 75 ninja that a cloth cape is probably not the best choice for a back piece ... they'll also force themselves to endure the idiocy for hours on end.

Why?

I think it's because they're afraid of ending up here, as an "elitist." Well, there's a rather easily-defined line between insisting that everyone be decked out in Rare/Ex HNM gear, or multi-million gil +1s ... and simply asking that people spend 100k to upgrade past their level 15 equipment.

Couldn't have said it better myself. There's some sort of stigma about elitist being a bad thing. It's not. Expecting unobtainable gear is a bad thing (Shura Togi when a first-job MNK dings 73, for example). Expecting up-to-date gear, preferably HQ / NM, is what people -should- do, and for some reason that's been re-labeled into "elitist." There's a very large black line between people who are on their first job, or just plain suck at making gil, running about in decent, inexpensive gear, and people who have no fucking clue what they're doing and wearing INT rings on MNK. Or who wear amazing gear and start fights with a Curaga III, nearly dying in the process.

ITT, we laugh at people who are outparsed by a (non-gimp) MNK's left hand, and I add to my list of people not to party with at any level.

Then blames the tnak saying they suck cause they couldn't hold hate. <3 those whm :D

DS Curaga IV onry. All other cures don't heal as much HP in the time spent casting, z0mg!

I’m in res cause I am waiting for rawr to get back to me on letting me join and I got a few people from res that I am friends with and chat with. Ant comes in occasionally he’s in 7th or 8th grade from what I hear so I can see where the gimp and the unwillingness to change or listen to suggestions.

Thank god I've never had the pleasure of partying with any BLU but Gannon (who happens to be pretty damn good at the job, I might add).

This guys gear is horrible though. Should've just booted him. D;

Thanks for the complement Aly, I like to think I am pretty decent at whatever job I play, even if I don't have the best of the best (I am working towards a Perdu Hanger thanks to Rollie's static)

Man, some of these pics literally made my jaw drop, especially the DRK (since I've leveled that to 75) and cannot imagine how these people manage to get to their current levels with that kind of gear.

It'd be great if we could get server-wide banning of invites for these people until they get decent gear, but since that's impossible, public humiliation is the next best thing; at the very least people will get a laugh. The problem is, that if idiots who level with total shit gear aren't called on it, they keep doing it and they end up telling other people what gear to use. If nothing else, it will show people who not to listen to for advice on gear.

For an example of what I'm talking about, here's a gimp monk I unfortunately partied with briefly:
GimpMonk.jpg

Yes, that's arhat's gear their wearing on monk. Most of the gear is fairly passable, I personally wouldn't go with STR rings full-time, but they're not bad. The Arhat's and JSE belt at level fucking SIXTY NINE is completely inexcusable and borderline retarded. They were wearing that shit full-time and thought it was good gear.

So I left the party not long after I noticed that, and a couple months later I joined a party(level 49-50) that was forming, only to find out that idiot was passing on their stupidity. This was a family relation, so it might be hereditary.

The rest of the discussion was Yuber trying to get us to stop arguing so the party could go on, even though the other guy was a moron.

So, at the very least, by publicly displaying horrible gimps like that, people might learn who to not listen to for advice. It might even shame a few gimps into getting better gear, but that's not likely to happen.

>.> just wondering big sexy, how old is that pic? I'mma kill wild if he's in some other ls. =P

Judging by my brothers lvl and job in that picture I'd say around 2yrs old maybe longer.

Okay, that is horrible.

And, for a little insight. That ass-clown Antdog was kicked out of a linkshell I was once in, for going down the linkshell list and begging for money. One by one, in alphabetical order, you would see people saying 'Dude, I said no, stop trolling me for money in /tell', until finally a leader of the ls confronted him about it and he turned into a whining 11 year old (I actually think that is his age) and she booted him.

You can see him occasionally shouting in Aht Urghan Whitegate or in Jeuno for 100k+ because 'he doesn't farm'. Hooray for high-leveled noobery.

I was the person who kicked him from that shell. He sent me a tell asking me to give (not loan) him 100k so he could buy something for his WAR. I said <Thanks for the offer, but I'll have to pass.> A couple of minutes later, my irl husband got a tell from him with the same request. At that point, I checked with a few other shell members, and he had asked every single one of them the same thing.

He was a newer linkshell member, so I sent him a tell, politely explaining that it wasn't cool to go down your linklist begging. He responded, telling me that he really wanted the gear for his WAR. I let him know begging the ls wasn't going to help him with that; all he was going to do was alienate people. He said, "So how am I supposed to get money to buy gear?" I explained that there were plenty of ways to make gil, and let him know he could farm, craft, do BCNM's, any number of things. I think I recommended fishing as it requires very little investment. He said he does not and will not do those things. o_O

At this point, I was thinking wth... I tried explaining that begging money doesn't help you become and remain self sufficient, that to keep yourself decently geared, you need to be able to make your own gil. He would hear none of it, so I told him that if begging was what he wanted to do, then fine, but not to go down the link list to do it as that is not what our linkshell is about. He said he wasn't hurting anyone, to which I replied that, no, not hurting, but annoying. He told me that the linkshell was stupid anyway, and that he hated everyone in it.

So I broke his pearl.

He unleashed a flood of clever tells after that, telling me things like "Your mom" and "You're stupid". I laughed for awhile, got bored, and then blacklisted him.

lol what a noobz you have to go down on your friendslist, not linklist
