I posted in the "server's up" thread, but people might not check that. If you use the recast plugin with windower, it'll crash your game. If anyone is auto-loading that plugin, take it out so you can play. None of the others seem to cause problems, it's likely due to the new spells that were added; but I'm not familiar with the plugin to know.

lol.. brd may be a bit tougher w/o that disitance plugin... unless all you use is one type of instrument for party buffs

They'll still need to modify their ToS before they can start banning people for windower; so until they announce that change, windower users are safe.

BRDs don't need distance plugin. I have never in my life used distance plugin and I can sing songs just fine. ;o

Distance plugin is quite useful for finding your distance to get to when people forget to stand still or the blu/mage/pld is at a different angle from the front each and every single fight.
It's also nice for making the rng not get ballad trying to stand with the mages although I probably should just drill the concept of stay away from the mages into the rng's head.

i don't have an eye for judging a stringed instrument distance for buffs. wind instruments sure.. thats an easy 10'.. but i can't 'eye' up to 20' i distance all the time when i play cor.

Level cor, and say that Ry, or even bard. Not like recast or distance affect anyone elce.

Even if/when SE makes windower mode for FFXI. You will still be able to use distance/recast without running the current windower, as it has no need for that info to appear on the actual game, it can be off to the side, or even placed in the same spot as SE's window mode. And it be quite unseen by SE.
