I hope this is in the right topic, but a friend of mine brought up a really good point. How come more people aren't banned for using the salvage exploit? I mean I only know of 3 people that are banned, but if they used the exploit, it means that other people should have the duplicates?

Other servers have way more banned than quetz. Asura alone has 114 and counting.

I think it was stated in another topic that only alliance leaders got permabanned and members of the alliances openly discussing what was going on got suspended while "unsuspecting" members who kept quiet just got a warning on their account.

On other servers whole linkshells are getting banned/suspended because they shared the exploit with their shells and maybe their friends on their server and other servers. It's no lie that Quetz is generally uninformed about things like this, so even if Kisada learned the trick, he wouldn't have necessarily shared it with others (and as shown in Phraust's thread, he didn't).
It's possible that a lot of Quetz JPs got the banhammer as well, since I hear they were more open about sharing the exploit with other JPs. We'll never hear from them, though.

Have to consider that this server by comparison is still as some have put it before "eden" compared to the clusterfucks that are Asura, Odin, and Bahamut.

The big names on this server DID get busted, for the most part. There's just not a whole lot of big names to go around in the first place.

and if they all wanna be pissed for getting banned, which they deserved, they should be pissed at 2 groups; themselves and BG. SE didnt know shit about that exploit and probably still wouldn't if they hadn't cheated in the first place and the egomaniacs on BG hadn't bragged about so openly. SE already stated that they view public FFXI forums for feedback about the game. and being one of the most popular im surpridsed these bannings didnt come sooner.

I don't feel bad for the cheater but i feel bad for the inncoent player lost everything if the person who got ban also a LS Bank/item holder

Not dirty item/money but the clean one

I heard some people with Mythics got banned. Cheating aside I feel bad for them.

As I recall, BG only began openly discussing it during the emergency maint. back in November.
Hell, there's a handful of people who post both here and there (Pchan, Urat, me, etc) that would've found out about it were they blabbing about it so much.

dam minidragon (bismark) and his 4+ relics got banned lol.

Try 7 with just finishing his Excal around a week ago.

yes i know when they started talking about it openly. one of the members of SnB told us that people had been using the exploit for months, but he didn't hear about it till then remember. and im sure that's when SE learned of it. they couldn't keep it to themselves anymore. when your ego is bigger then your brain you can only keep your mouth shut for so long.

Minidragon's story is made a lot more pathetic in that he immediately started a new character upon being banned; it's at 75 PLD now, with about 75% of his aegis cash and gearing up in limbus / sky as we speak.

Not pathetic in that he started over but in that after losing so much stuff he has no problems coming right back into the game and pulling off a ridiculous grind (about 50 straight hours..) just to get back into end game.

Talk about serious business.

no way hes 75 pld in 50 hours from starting at 1

Well, it's just what I saw on BG. I probably shouldn't have said anything in the first place, I don't have any real proof to back it up other than another poster and I probably couldn't even find that if asked.

I'm going to assume that he's human and did decide to quit, but the story, fake or not, is hilarious if true.

he mentioned mules that botted, any logical person would have (not condoning) a separate credit card on his mules and 1 for his real character. a person that like whatever the hell he did on those mules fishbot farmbot gardening im sure has millions of gil, and a leader of a shell his caliber can easily get a lvl 75 character given to him.

So the rumor probably true just he didn't lvl it to 75 probably an account given to him. I mean bard i would doubt it but not put it as impossible but pld xp isn't exactly fast.
