Ever since I lost all our hard work, what was there left to do? It really sucked. I mean, c'mon, I lost what my friend and I had always wanted to have. Aside from that, losing all my rare/exclusive and meaningful items was brutal.
We set out to get another Kraken from Up in Arms. While I had leveled RDM on Scwall, he leveled a taru BLM from scratch to 60, called Juajuajiin (Samurai Champloo ref). Our friend had quit the game years ago and gave the old Scwall his hume, Theangelofdeath, a level 56 BLM which he then promptly leveled to 60.
About 1200-1600 beastmen seal's later, we grew pretty tired and started looking into the next best thing, Rune Chopper setups. We still make attempts at the BC but it just never drops. Eventually both Juajuajiin and Theangelofdeath hit 75 on their BLM's. During that time we camped Argus and gave the amulets to our future DRK's.
So in an effort to recreate and optimize Dowzer, we made an attempt to camp Velocious belts for a capped Rune Chopper setup. The plan fell through as we got bored of our shitty luck with claiming and the deal was sealed when SE announced their changes to the haste cap. We didn't know what to do, would we have to settle for the huge wait before a Kraken Club finally drops? I surely did not want to settle for a Mercurial Kris.
A few days later we found ourselves in Onzozo. As much as people laugh about how useless they think the Octave Club is, we made sure to do a little research before living in the Labyrinth. Dusk Hands/Feet, Swift, Wyvern Earring/Targe, and a Patroclus's Helm are needed, which aren't entirely hard to obtain. The only HP pieces missing are Bloodbead rings...fun. The Souleater enhancement will come from Sable Cuisses or Gloom, situationally.
Of course, we're gimping the job, mainly because we already have more useful jobs for situations outside of TP Burn fights.
Aside from being an incredibly fun toy to farm with, I have high hopes that it'll trump everything besides the real thing.
Our overall records were:
2 Amulets in 16 days
2 Clubs in 17 days
