Regarding Compromised Accounts

Recently, it has come to Square Enix's attention that an unfortunate number of players have lost access to accounts due to their becoming compromised by a third party. As such, we have devised a process that will allow these players to regain access to their accounts.

Effective immediately, the PlayOnline Information Center will begin assisting those customers who have lost access to an account due to it being compromised. Through identity confirmation, the PlayOnline Information Center will be returning account access to the original registrant. This process is currently going into effect to help restore account access to the original registrant as quickly as possible. Once access has been regained, the customer will then be able to seek reimbursement for lost items per our current item restoration policy.

Please contact the PlayOnline Information Center immediately should you find you have lost access to an account. We cannot guarantee we can assist everyone in these cases, but we will attempt to restore account access when possible. Additionally, by contacting us as soon as possible, it will allow us to take action to limit changes to the account, and help restore access to the original registrant as quickly as possible.

Results! Yay for all those that lost there accounts.

It's SE, don't expect too much from them >.>

Recently,
lol.
Good to see results though. Hope everyone gets through okay.

Remember, SE's definition of "recent" is within a year's time XD

Good news for those that lost their accounts and such though, glad to see progress has been made.

I wonder if this will allow people to sell thier account and then get it back..

...so does this mean people who lost virtually(no pun) everything will be getting back one thing?

All SE needs to do is just do a roll back for those players. I mean if their servers/computers/interwebs/whatever can tell me that i've dropped X item, at X time, at X place up to i believe 6 months, they have the ability to rollback players from the time they jumped servers. If they dont, its because they dont "want" to.

pretty sure someone gonna try that, sell the account and pretend got hacked

Then if SE wishes to press charges for fraud... not that they would, but they could.

It could equal out to be a good chunk of change, plus e-bay is pretty good about buyer protection.

You mean I could try to get my FFXI account back from the rmt who stole me after I quit???

lol

Anyone have a link to their lolPolicy?

Update: People are getting accounts back now, yay.

They're not restoring items, and they're billing you for the months you were hacked because the RMT cards bounced

Then whats the point? That's a nice bill all at once. What if your account info wasn't changed but items were dropped/traded off it? It's pathetic they're too lazy to check the logs to see what items were dropped.

one of my friends sent an email to SE about his items. He took a screenshot of his Equipment, Items and Mog House storage, etc a few times he got something really cool. Apparently he was told that they would consider it (go customer service... >.>)
