Regarding Rare/ex and casting lots

Let's say you keel something and it drops a rare/ex (this being in a level up party or whatever) and you can use said item... well you should be able to lot on it.. HOWEVER if you have no job which can use it yet.. and I don't care if that job is 1exp tnl to the leve it can be used.. you should have no right to lot on it... especially if NO ONE has ever seen you use that job or even high enough to be close to use the level.. I know you might like to have the item for later dates but that doesn't matter.. if people can use it at that point and would like to.. DON'T LOT AND LET THEM GET IT >_>

People have multiple jobs and could very well use it. Frankly if they helped you defeat the NM without any prior agreement about the issue they have every right to lot on the item as you do.

Meh... a while back when we were xp'ing lvl 60 some jobs I was on my SMN... Ose pops in onzozo and we team up with another pt to kill it. A.Jerkin drops.

Both pts are JP... except for me and (shit i forget his name... Coraic?) ...anyway the leaders both agreed to free lot to all... unless you had it (couldn't lot anyway)... so pretty much everyone lotted, even the WHMs... so I'm like whatever, I'll lot... I'm not gonna win. The highest lot was like 984 anyway.

I lotted 985.

Anyway... the pt had agreed to free lot... so everyone lotted. Coraic threw a hissy fit cause I couldn't use it... and honestly I didn't think I was gonna win anyway... but whatev. I probably will be using it soon on my RDM ._.

I'm against the "lotting because I don't have it" logic...especially if it's an item you can't use for a while, or a very long time, or possibly ever. If you have a job that can use (lets just say since it's already the example, Assault Jerkin) on your rdm in two levels, fair enough, but if some Rare/Ex level 60+ item drops and your class closest to using it is like level 10, pass on the goddamn thing, it's such a waste to have something so good rot in your inventory for weeks, perhaps months, rather than have someone else put it to good use. =\

that's stupid.. I will never lot on the God armor I can't use.. and most of that armor a RDM can't use.. when I finally get a job that can use it above lvl 70.. sure.. I'll lot then.. but it's like Dynamis.. you don't lot on an AF if you don't have a job that's already lvl 65+ (that's if you aren't lotting on your main job's AF as it is)

Same thing happened to me. I was on smn, ose pops, we kill it, and I was just about to pass, but went afk. I come back,and see I'm the only one to pass or lot.. highest lot was like 245 among 18 people -_-

Sooooo.... I'm tempted as hell to lot, mumble something about my samurai (god I never get high lots on NM so lord knows I am going to lot in this case) , and I do lot... thinking "Watch me get a 3" I end up with 998 and I'm like, well that's great. Why can't this happen on useful crap,lol.

I agree with this totally. Awhile (quite a while mind you) back we were xping in Labrynth of Onzozo. Well Ose pops. Now I'm on my Whm, but I also have a lvl 50 War, who would look just awesome in that Assault Jerkin someday. I don't care that I can't use it for such and such levels or not. You want my help to kill Ose, that's a fair lot for me.

Flame me if you want, but unless it's specifically stated, like with Optical Hat runs or Gods WHO is getting what, I'm lotting.

I'm not gonna say this is a bad thing simply because your WAR's already close to using it and you have intent to level WAR. What I was personally against is someone lotting something like Sukesada when their SAM is only level 6, meaning it'd be rotting in their storage for 3+ months (whereas if a 50+ person got it, they could probably be using in within a week or two, which is -somewhat- more meaningful).

I agree with u also in a perfect world. It SHOULD be this way but it isnt and it will never be so all I can say is when someone takes something from you in RL or in the game, dont get too upset.
