Reinstaling Zilart

has anyone had to reinstall zilart before?

My Hdd (I play PS2) broke the other day, said i had to reinstall Final fantasy but it said that reinstaling would erase zilart expantion pack. so with out any other choice i had to reinstal Finaly fantasy. then i had to do a 10 HR update for FFXI. now all i have left to do is to instal Zilart expation pack, but heres where i'm confused i went to "review ID'" in "Content ID". and it says that its instaled ...

hmm... when i log on to FFXi it says expantion pack is not instaled. then my friend said why dont you tele to the jungle see if you can go... so i switched to WHM when to yhoat and i loded ... i did tele altep and it loded ... is something wrong ... from what i know now those are zilart aeras and it says its not instaled...

That's odd. The PS2 version was just a DVD for POL and TM installation, and the other DVD was for FFXI and Zilart. You might have to reformat the HDD. Use the utility disc that came with the HDD to do that. If that doesn't work, then your HDD is probably broken.

There are two separate ways (both of which must be working properly) in which you need to get an expansion going:

1. Install the software on your PC or HDD. The files themselves, the area data, etc. If you reformat and have to reinstall FFXI, you have to reinstall the expansion software too.

2. Register your online account as having the expansion. (This is where you put in that registration code that came with it.) You only have to do it *once* for your account, after that it'll always remember "this person has a registered copy of the expansion".

If either #1 or #2 is false, it will not let you do any expansion stuff. Sounds like you're fine on #2, so all you should need to do is make sure you have the files properly installed. Reformat and reinstall (making sure to install everything and that said everything specifically includes Zilart) if you have to.
