so...i'm tryin to get FFXI set up on an older PC here in the house. The DVD drive is sorta toast so i obviously can't use the FFXI DVD i have here.

is there a place i can get the ffxi, zilart, cop and toau installation files? like a bit torrent or something? i checked SEs site and they didn't have anything...of course. i know it'll be a huge ass DL, but w/e. i'm in no hurry to replace my DVD drive seeing as how this isn't actually my PC, but my younger bros. thanks guys. PEACE

Just search the unscrupulous place known as the pirate bay. I don't think links are allowed here, anyway. I'm sure searching for something like

would suffice.

If you know anything about networking, it may be simpler to just activate sharing of your DVD-ROM Drive on the network. This is, of course, assuming that your PC has a working DVD Drive. Depending on the speed of your network, installation may take a bit longer then usual seeing as how you're sending huge amounts of data across the network. Lastly, I highly advise that both PCs be wired directly into the router. It will speed up the data transfer immensely as opposed to a much slower wireless network.

I would recommend Cherron's solution - as it is less apt to include spyware to steal your POL ID and PWD. Not that I'm trying to scare you or anything, you just can't be too cautious these days.

thanks for the replies guys. to be honest i hadn't thought of sharing my drive. woot

"Allegedly" I torrented both my ToAU (because I mailed a friend the disc and never got it back) and WoTG (my disc was fucked up for some reason) expansions the last time I re-installed. I know I can't link you to anything, but if there was a website called "btjunkie" and it had a ".org" at the end, I'd suppose that would be a good site to find said expansions, and then some.

The files were large and took a little while, but I did them both overnight and they were done by the time I woke up. "Allegedly"
