Relic Weapons Easier to Obtain?

Wouldn't it need to drop a lot more frequently for that to be feasible?

The same could be said about relic upgrades in Dream zones, yet they drop a lot less currency than others.

They're not calling you a kupo. It's a sound they make.

I know it's easy to make that mistake. Maybe you had /sarcasm on?
You honestly think anything I said was serious? lol

I thought Vana'Diel being named from Van Diesel's murdered wife Vanna Diel being the first human on Vana'Diel was a dead give-away... lol

Naw. Create demand for it, theus upping the value of dynamis, and it's currency. I see SE trying to protect relic weapons more than it would try to make it easier.

If the value of coins drops below the value of the glass, then they will have a minor issue on thier hands. If they can sustain the value of dynamis, they can sustain the value of the relic weapons, the only way to do that, it to make the consumable items of Dynamis, Predominantly the coins, even more "useful".

Create more uses for the coins.
=
More demand for the coins.
+
Same supply of coins.
=
Higher coin value.
=
Higher Relic Value.

Now if they are really Smart/Fucked up (Depending on your angle) they'd make some service/activity based on using Ancient Currency.

I personally woudl be Mightly pissed off if they happen to make the Ancient Currency easier ot aquire...

Glad to see someone understands basic economics.

They kinda stuck their foot in their mouth on this one. If the time is set before gil is the globally accepted economy, it's economically -worthless- and thus no one would have any logical reason to accept it. Moreso, the currencies such as Bronzepieces and such are the widely accepted currency at the time and thus things should cost such...however, since those are the widely accepted currency, you'd think there'd be some way to aquire them somewhat easily.

This leaves you with either the gaping plothole of being unable to acquire the common currency at the time, or the gaping plothole of them using a currency that isn't even accepted yet. Frankly I'm hoping that maybe they use perhaps a different-but-same version of the currency that perhaps can't be taken back to the future or simply is different in such a way that it can't be used to upgrade relic.

Does people even read up on FFXI history or at least follow the storyline? <.<

This is the third time I say this... gil was already used at that time, mainly in Jeuno and by traders. We enter the war around at the time the Archduke of Jeuno unite the three nations to fight the war together. The reason they used three different currencies is because they were partially at war with each other as well. The Archduke, however, realized that unless they decided to help each other out, it would result in everyone losing the war. Jeuno was a neutral ground, so the best place to hold the emergency meeting was there. That's also why Jeuno drop all three currencies, due to being neutral.

And since the three nations decided to help each other out, it would, naturally, be wise of them to use the same currency, thus they start using gil. However, they don't officially release Gil as the official currency at this time, since it would naturally be confusing for everyone to change the currency to gil in a state of emergency. That's why they officially change the currency to Gil after the war is over, to celebrate that they, together, won the war, and as an act of trust between each other. To celebrate new, peaceful times, together, as allies.

That's also why they were so reluctant to introduce Ballista, out of fear that it could start a new war between the nations.

Vin Diesel didn't make Vana'diel?

I guess I missed the: This is 100% joke disclaimer.

Rule # 3: No mistreating the kupos.

Who gives a shit if they make Relic Weapons easier to obtain?

Spent all that time on them? Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. Poor you.

They made Mannequins obsolete and a joke with the 9-Drawer Aiforgetthename. Those that spent hundreds of thousands of gil on a Mannequin can now get the same storage space for 50k. Sure, it's not on the same scale... or is it? So what if a Relic Weapon drops from 150~ Million to 75~ Million. It's still not obtainable by a majority of the playerbase, especially so in todays economy.

Things get easier over time. Suck it up. Shit, relic weapons today are easier to complete when they were first put in, just arbitrarily because of some better equipment options around that weren't 3 years ago.

So what if someones ego gets bruised? That one person isn't the deciding factor in if SE does or does not decide to make it easier - it's the hundreds of thousands of other players that would want them to be.

I remember spending weeks on my epic weapon in EQ. It didn't hurt in the slightest when they made better equipment, and epic weapons became obtainable in a single day.

The only people that would want them to remain difficult and/or the top of the hill, are those with an unrealistic concept of wanting the games cieling to never rise - and force the game to stagnate. In which case, we're better off having them quit in an emo fashion in the first place.

Thief's Knife seems like an appropriate thing to bring up in this topic at this point in time. Or maybe you'd prefer Igqira Weskit? Panther Mask +1?

Pretty much, yeah.

Even Adaberk has lost appeal, with Ares and the Two Hand fix. It's still good. It's just no longer the king for every melee situation available now.

Yeah, a lot of people spent months camping it, and then the price drops to 50k. Some other spent 20 mil buying it, and now it costs 50k.

Also, WoW comes to mind. People spend months getting the best gear currently out which only a small minority of the players have, and then they release a new expansion with a higher level cap, with craftable and buyable gear that's better after 5 levels.

What crack are you smoking?

To an extent the changes to make items more obtainable applies here too, juggernaut, speed belt, pcc, and kclub to name a few. PCC used to be almost unobtainable, now all it takes is lvl 40 and a lil luck...

Do you even know the stats between the two? Do you even know what the two handed fix did?

Or did you just act stupid, and read that as me calling Adaberk a piece of shit now?

Not to mention it's easier to camp as well, with people who farmed it for gil having been flushed out, theres significantly less competition if you shoot for the amulet.

You really don't need that much luck on it... back when I used to farm it, we went 3/18. Its really quite easy...

Or go to the AH and buy it 1,600,000.

+11 atk difference vs +25 acc
the argument is already lopsided even if you ignore the fact that one peice of gear enables the rest of the gear being worn to completely/almost ignore accuracy/dex during tp and ws.
swapping 2 sniper's rings into flames during tp makes it a whopping difference of 1 atk on the ares vs e body argument.

of course it's possible you were referring to the vit mod on steel cyclone when the only weapon it's useful with vs raging rush in an exp situation is a martial bhuj. Or were you referring to the + vit mod on drg jumps despite drg not being able to wear e body?
