Were they disabled? Or do i somehow not have the ability to reply there. I can make a new post, but cant reply to an existing one <,<

All AH transactions they require additional posting should be done so through PM or some other form of communication.

This is to prevent from the replies that many ppl get in their WTS/WTB thread: "OMG....your selling that for way too much. Thats ridiculous." or "You seriously think someone is gonna sell you that for that much?".

Those kinds of replies are simply PC+1's that serve no purpose what so ever to the original intent of the thread. So, if nobody can reply then that takes that out of the equation.

It isnt that difficult to get ahold of the person hosting the thread through a different means of communication other than posting a reply on the thread. Yes, true, it is not as 'convieniant', but convieniance has been sacrificed in order to allow a clean, garbage-post free thread to exist without the constant management of a mod.

In short, it helps more than it hurts. And we all know that sometimes you have to give a little in order to get a little.
 
how the hell are we supposed to bump something then? remake the thread when it falls off the front page? thats just dumb

AH board would turn into the flameboard in a heartbeat if someone had a hair up their ass about another player.

this would be the only problem I can see with the "no replies". If there isn't a problem with re-making a thread, then we can always do that but it easier to just have the original poster reply to "bump" their thread. If its possible to enable only the original poster to reply to the thread, that would be good but not sure if that's something that can be done with this type of forum.

You can still reply to your own thread. All you have to do is bump it yourself.

idk, I didn't think the off topic replies were all that bad. I visit the forum much less often now that half the threads are "offer me a price kthxbye". Now I find the forum very annoying where as before it was helpful.

Not only that, but there have been a few I'd like to have replied to in a helpful mannor, and yes, I am too lazy to PM :wink:

lol I'm gonna eat those words now :nyam: I'd seen several consecutive threads in the last few weeks but it looks like the newer threads have prices posted.
 
Well, I guess in the end, you'll never be able to please everyone and it just has to come down to what benefits the community as a whole. Now, as to whether it does or not really isnt for me to say officially. I think it does, but thats just my opinion. Even if ppl were able to reply in it again, it wouldnt bother me. In the end, I'll just support the community in doing what serves its best intrest however I can to my limited ability. :)
