Greetings everyone, I quited this game long ago but decided to return and my linkshell is gone so is the dynamis LS I was part of. My FFXI name is Elwen, I wouldn't think anyone remembers me, I have a 75 PLD and 74 RNG, currently playing as a 31 COR, I'm a crafter as well, took Woodworking to 98 but the economy is really bad, I couldn't look for any synths that would make a profit so I'm not sure if I should bother hitting 100. Well, I look forward to being active again most of the people I grew up with are gone and I'm dazzled with all the changes, a little guidance would be nice to get me started

That was my little monologue about who I was, I'm just looking to make acquaintances or friends and also would any of you recommend this game to anybody as of now? I'm helping someone level up but I'm not sure if the future of this game is going to be promising. That's all I have to say for now, I appreciate any kind of help, I'll return the favor with what I possess, take care and send me a /tell or something

I'd recommend reading this thread here, started by Ladykiki as it has a lot of useful information for returning players and will probably give you a good idea on whether the game is worth playing again depending on what areas made the game fun for you in the first place.

Other than that, hope you have fun.

whatup. whether or not the future of this game looks "promising" depends greatly upon with whom you talk. some retired players, or those who have changed from ffxi to WoW or Age of Conan or the like would probably say "meh, ffxi is dead", despite coming back to play ffxi within months or a year of "retiring".

this game is still just as fun as you want it to be. all sorts of new battlefields including Campaign, Assault, ZNM etc etc are all insanely fun. really what it boils down to is that it's as fun as you really want it to be.

All it matters to me if there is anyone to play with, even what Zilart and CoP offer still amuses me since I really haven't completely finished any
 
Hey man, I actually remember you Elwen.

I too just returned.. not quite from Age of Conan, but since I am working with that game now it made me miss the crap outta FFXI.

Avery 75 blm, 70 rng, 40something nin. Course, I cannot remember my old account details so had to start over as Soryn, haha. Ohwell, these new jobs look interesting, as well as all the new activities.

Hope to see you ingame, man! Look me up, I will be noobing it up in Saruta hunting those bees and crawlers. Whee!
 
welcome back and nice to meet you. i'll never suggest someone to start a fresh new char as of now but since you already have 2 jobs at 75 and a craft, you can still have all the fun you want.
and the ToAU and WotG are totally enjoyable contents. cya in game^^
