Returning to FF

[Sodaru]

Returning to the game after about half a year or so. I come back to find Midgard is moving. I guess I have a lot of new people to meet, so I might as well start here Don't currently have an LS, but looking forward to having a pleasant experience

/waves to Sodaru -- Hi Soda! Welcome back, will see you soon on Quetzy!

[Sodaru]

I read up on FFXIV, and got really nostalgic. So...trying to find the windower, the installers, ect ect. Re-installing on dial up is a painfully slow process , the servs will be gone by the time I update lol.

Yay! It's Soda!

[Sodaru]

Still on dial up...so I may need to stay on FF11 instead of 14...which will suck

If cost is the obstacle, some high-speed providers have un-advertised low speed tiers (sometimes provided to comply with local regulatory reasons or what not, so your mileage may vary). For instance, in my area Comcast has some sort of "Basic Reduced" service that's a fraction of the price (and speed) of their regular service, but still far faster than dial-up. You have to ask for it, and they'll probably try to upsell you like mad though.

Of course, doesn't help if you're in a remote area with no broadband providers at all.

Hey there Sodaru! guess it's see you on quetz. ^^

And yar. If you're really out in the boonies, it's hard to get any broadband. You might want to check your cable provider tho (Even tho I usualy think UGH comcast and call them "comCRAP" because we had them once as a cable company and they sucked. Went out every time it rained), they might.

...Tho I'm not familiar with how far they offer that kind of internet though. We've always used DSL.

22k feet from the CO, so I think DSL it out of the question. I know cable lines stop down the road about 1 mile I think
