RIP Skreb

It's been a long time since I've logged on and posted here, but I feel those who knew him need to know.

Skreb passed away sometime last night or early this morning due to a heart attack. He had been doing better, quit smoking, and had been working hard to improve his health. He was like an uncle to me, took care of me during rough times, and was always there to talk to.

I had seen him just a few weeks ago, and had just talked to him yesterday. His roommate and long time friend called and let me know today, and services will be arranged soon.

I'm still in shock and having a hard time letting it sink in.

Well that's terrible news. Skreb was always a great guy to talk to, and was one of the ones who reached out to me when I was having a tough time.

He might have looked a bit scary at times, but he had a good soul.

He took me in when I was homeless, I was the first person he called when his dog died (just over a year ago) and looked out for me. He trusted me with Sookie, the dog he adopted after Bootsie, to take her for walks and spend time with her, depending on if his mother can care for her or not, I might end up with her. He was the last person I expected this to happen to, especially since I just lost a great uncle just over a week ago and had talked to him about how upset I was over it. Foreshadowing I guess.

I'm sorry for your loss. It's never a good thing when someone you know passes away, specially when you have such a close connection with them. While I can't say I was close friends with Skreb I do recall him being on the forums and I might have seen him in-game a few times back during my FFXI time. In fact, I think he was a part of the orginal BigFun LS if I'm not mistaken, so I'm sure I did a few things with him.

Skreb was awesome and always had interesting stories to tell in Vent. May he rest in peace. I remember him sending me this video

I wish was this close with people in game.

Sucks to hear when a name you'd see all the time has passed on. Can't recall if I ever hung out with him or not. Feels like we had time together though.
