So I'm skilling up / farming as I sometimes do, and am presented with a situation that familiar to me. I'm in some random area, six or seven suspicious characters there, doing their thing. I generally don't give it much thought, until they ask for help with a raise or something, which brings up a moral dilemma. I'm not interested in helping someone do bad things, but I'm making an assumption based on appearances. Then again, I'm not one to turn away someone who is in need, and I am in an easy position to assist. As a recent example, I am in Castle O' a couple of days ago, and get a /tell asking for a raise for one of the six level 51+ BLMs in Seer's gear.

Given this scenario, and assuming you're generally helpful to those you don't know, I'm interested in your honest opinions if you'd raise the person or not.

Shitty name, crappy gear, anon, no LS, in a group of people who is exactly the same as them: they're RMT. I've been in that situation and refused to raise, even when I was standing next to them in my WHM armor; hell I even watched them die. It doesn't make you a bad person to refuse to raise RMT, just remember: they're not people.

Thres a ouple of em dead in the mines right now that im not raising this very instant. They refuse to pay my 500k ransom on the basis that they are poor.

Anyone need war af done? I wanna mkp em with the NM a few hundred times.

The one in the baron gear is a RDM, they get raise at 38. Even if they aren't RMT (yeah right) they deserve to HP and buy the damn scroll.

Standard rate is 5M gil for Raise 1.

I raised RMT once. I was all too glad to do it and the Haunt standing next to them was too. :)

Don't you think you are going a bit soft on them?

25M for R2.

100M for R3.

They can take it or leave it.
I'm not the dead one. ^^

no /WHM on any of them? weird...

They got/whm ... lv 10. and they aren't above lv 24 atm. /war lv 5 too on thier melee.

You don't need intuition for the obvious. At at that point, the dilemma is easily removed. Problem solved~

I would like to request of those capable of in any way flagging the war af quest in palborough mines to do so at thi instant and train the monster to the the gilsellers impending doom.

Your intuition SHOULD tell you they're obvious RMT. The odds you find someone of same race, same gear, and same headset as well as same level (unless 75, of course) is sortof rare as it is, but a full party of clones? Come on.

I saw a group of 6 Tarutarus with like 5 taht looked the same(all ano too).. After being back after 3 years and was on my first week, I didn't know that meant RMT, They were all mostly BLMs Nuking and sleeping crabs in kuftal tunnel, I thought it was funny and unique..Either way They were nice to warp 2 me >.< So I don't know what to say on the matter. Karma is a bitch

I would start casting raise , then run so it gets interupted (sp?) , but thats just me. :P

Hmm, maybe I simplified my question by posting such an obvious example. . .

No matter how you ask it, you'll still get the same answer. When it comes to RMT, the general consensus is pure hatred and nothing, no matter how you slice it, will change that. It is fairly obvious a majority of the time to tell RMT from the rest of the pack. RMT usually travel in groups, wear similar gear, flock to BLM, etc. etc. To most, especially those who deal with them every day, it's obvious. There are some out there who don't even know what RMT is, but I am sure if you explained who they are, they could run a couple of names off the top of their head.

Either way your actions are moot.

What matters is how you feel about what you do.

Personally i'dve picked 'im up and dusted 'im off. 5 minutes of their time getting back is just as worthless as my 5 seconds picking them up.

People who really hate RMT report, farm, camp, etc.

Everything else is just posturing because you have a venue, IMO.

Edit: Back when i felt like doing my part on the crusade against RMT i'd take some buddies and go fuck up production rate in zi'tah. Denying a raise is abotu as pacifist (sp?) as it gets.
