I was wondering if i could get some suggestions and feedback on a solid MND build for a 75 RNG, i was wondering how effective this can be with holy bolts, and what are some recommended equipment.

Any info is greatly appreciated

Head: Scout's Beret - +4 mnd
Neck: Faith Torque - +5 mnd (+7 marksmanship)
Hand: crimson/blood hands
Body: Osode - +10 mnd
Legs: Hunter's Braccae +1 - +5 mnd
Feet: Suzy boots - +15 mnd
Ear: triumph earrings
Rings: Aqua rings? - +5 mnd each (also +2 str each)
Back: Amemet +1, Gunner's/Jaeger mantles
Waist: Scout's belt, Buccaneer's belt

Gives youuuu, +49 mnd, If you use fire/vulcan staff you can also use the raptor strap +1 (+2mnd) bringing you to +51 mnd. I probably wouldn't use the scout's beret over AF+1 beret, or Ohat though. Iffy on the rings also.

If the game is still anything how it was when I left it a year and some months ago, then crossbows and much less holy bolts won't hold their weight against long bows with Kabura Arrows or even the level 60 arrows (Something like demonic arrows. I can't quite remember the name). If you're really determined to use them, I remember some people getting good procs out of a Light staff. In general, it was never good to focus most of your gear on MND since you would be sacrificing a lot of R.acc and R.att for the higher and consistent procs and your normal shots would suffer just as equally.

I've never actually been a fan of the xbow on my rng, but I put up the setup I'd use if I were to. And yeah I've also heard the light staff increases the additional effects damage.

I had a friend that used a setup similar to this, but he used a machine crossbow, so it was basically low damage bolts, but spamming the additional effect damage. He kept up very well in the parse. Only problem is the mob cant be resistant to the light damage, or your boned.

Yeah I remember using the HQ quality version of that really fast crossbow on trash mobs for fun. After awhile though, I never used the holy bolts and I would only use the Acid/Dark steel rounds if I used my Othinus' Bow. The only thing I ever switched to RNG for was for gods or HNM, and those used to resist holy bolts hardcore.

If you're gonna go marksmanship use a gun. Xbows got the shaft in this game.

Shut up, u go xbow for acid so others can get higher sides #s @ decos.
I've seen a Ranger use the mind build and a light staff at Faf. Although Faf isn't the most resistant of mobs, but give it a shot.

No need to tell people to shut up. He raises a good point... with a MND setup, you do in fact sacrifice a lot of potential pieces that add ranged attack and accuracy.

hit it with your horse like in conan

Yeah i wasnt sure how effective it would be seeing as i would sacrifice alot of racc, tho xbow is faster than a normal bow i just dunno if it will be as effective on tougher mobs, i think maybe when farming and what not it might help.

Another question i have is:

Would the MND and added effect (Even tho it doesnt show up) make a difference during Slug Shot or Barrage?

I agree with Icewolf - X-bow did not get the shaft at all.
O-bow has got alot of potential, with a full merit cap on marksmanship the dmg you get is not bad at all (of course there is the gear issue).
As for the mnd build, it has also got some potential, but it would be used on certain mobs for sure?
From what I have heard, RNGs in Dynamis Xarc, doing /whm with a full mnd build, O-bow and holy bolts kicks butt! Demons - undead and mobs like that should be a blast to try out with the setup Icewolf mentioned in an earlier post. I have never tried this combinaton, so I wouldnt know if it is true, but hearing from players that used this setup makes me think that it would work very well.
