Just a question, but how many stacks of bullets do you go through an hour? My static is about to start, and when I hit 50, I'm going to use guns. Only problem is, I'm not sure if its going to be possible for me to make enough money to last 4 hours on Saturday, 4 hours on Sunday, farm enough for armor, level sub, and have a life. :? Just want to make sure I'm not getting in over my head. Any input would be great. Thanks
 
Guns you are looking at about 2 or so stacks an hour. At bow I go through about 3 stacks or so an hour. If you use Unlimited Shot you can extend your ammo a bit. So factor in about 35k an hour for ammo, times four, you are looking at 140k a session, times 2 times a week..looking at 280k a weekend.

Honestly, bows arent gonna be any cheaper, demons are gonna run the same as Silvers. The only thing that will be cheaper is Xbow. But then you are looking at a much more expensive weapon for the 7 levels between Heavy Bow +1 and O-Bow.

Think that covers your bases..

eurytos bow is much more then heavy+1, and musketeer+2 gun is like 1mil?
 
you're best bet is to find a friend who can make the bullets, to save as much money as you can. Almost all my RNG stuff was either crafted for me, shared with my thief, or i made myself.

if you're buying the bullets, its a HUGE investment in money.
 
well, at 42, your not spending massive amoungts of gil for bullets? i cant quite remember how much the bullets are. i do know that silver bullets did cost quite alot. way too much to even want to buy all teh time. i buy 2 stacks ever now and then and start using them at the beginning of a pt and switch to arrows after i run out

I use bow and x-bow, but plan(ned) on using guns at 50. This is very disheartening, and I'll probably be going through a career change ;_;
 
It's not that hard to level goldsmithing to twenty and make silver ingots. You can find firesand easy enouhg just with scavenge.

Then hand them over to any alchemist yuo know for discount.

Making Silver Ingots on cheap guild day ----------> 314-315 a silver ore.
Making Silver Ingots off AH ----------> 400+ a silver ore.

So you're looking to save over 300 gil in just the cost of makign a single ingot, let alone how far under AH that is.

Firesand is 15k a stack I think, so you could save some serious cash this way. I plan to be a gun ranger myself after I'm done with Thief to an extent.
 
Is it really that high? I guess I dont pay that close attention then... Here is the deal.. If you think there is a sight possibility you wont be able to afford Ranger...then dont play it. It might be cruel I know, but its a job that has already been flooded by those who arent willing to put forth the effort to pay it as it should be.
