And you thought FFXII was Star Wars-esque? :P

Anyways, anyone else getting this January 30th, 2007 for the PS2 for $39.99? It's one of my most looked forward to rpgs for '07, which was supposed to release in '06.
It's by Level 5, one of my favorite RPG developers, whom previous works include Dark Cloud 1/2, Dragon Quest VIII(contracted by SE), and currently working on Dragon Quest IX(contracted by SE), Jeanne de'Arc, and White Knight Story.

Here's a few trailer videos for the NA version, which has extras not found in the JP version, like a new planet to explore, more costumes, and so on.

(And yes, the person who did Lilika's voice, Kari Wahlgren, also did Ashe in FFXII, also Steve Blum, who did Zegram, also did Ba'Gamnan in XII, and Vincent in FFVII: DoC, and I'm sure others did too)

I've been waiting on this since my friend showed it to me a year ago. It looks amazing.

I intend to get this game. I'm hoping it's one of those really good titles that just comes out of nowhere.

I will be playing this game on launch day. :D

My friend gave me a demo of the game, not bad, but not mind blowing either. Graphics look normal for a PS2 game, voices are recognizable from other games (one party member is the voice of Wolverine from the X-men Legends games).

Gameplay is like a variation of Kingdom Hearts, you run outside in the field, and at times you'll get a warning message, then enemies will spawn all around. Battles are fast paced, with teamates being controlled by the AI. Once in awhile they'll shout out what you want them to do next, giving you quick way to switch between defensive/offensive styles, not bad.

Only problems I see, and these might be because its the demo with no explanations, but the battles seem too chaotic at times. There's bars and text everywhere, not even sure what some it even was for. And while the special moves and spells are great to look at, most fights can be won with just X mashing.

Like I said, it was a demo though, so maybe things will be different. I hate that it just has a flat time limit, makes it a pain to mess around with, but I think I'll try it again and post some more info.

Well I play games these days more for the story and characters. Probably why I'm not going to get a wii...
