So I need a replacement. Anyone know of a readily available, semi-cheap, yet effective b/g wireless router with atleast 2 wired ports? Was using a Belkin F5D6231-4, for example.

This thing is, as they say, da bomb:

Cdn price, pick your dealer of choice. Anyone should have WRT54GL's in stock. The firmware on this router was based on Linux, and due to the GPL license or whatever it's called, they had to release the firmware as open source.

The nerds got ahold of it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DD-WRT

I'd post all the features they added in but the list is massive. Free download, flash to your router, you just added a few hundred dollars worth of functionality.

how do you do it, I see a link from the wiki page for the site, but it gives a bunch of wierd things to DL.

Damnit Skaw, I was hoping for a topic about random explosions and sparking power cords.

Imagine my dissapointment when I discovered you actually had a simple problem.
