Well, I finally got around to writing a little background on Kyrie, so here goes:

Kyrie's mother was a Mithra who grew up in Kazham. When she was about 18, she met a Hume from Norg, and eventually fell in love with him. They got married in Kazham, but moved to Norg shortly after. They had Kyrie about a year or two later, and about a year after that, the Great War broke out. Kyrie's parents were part of a mercenary group based in Norg, and were hired to fight for Windurst when they were being overrun by the beastmen.

While they were there, they left Kyrie with an old Tarutaru named Haruto-Maruto, who was taking care of the children of several soldiers who were fighting in the war. During one of the major battles, both of Kyrie's parents were killed, as were the parents of many of the other children being watched by the kindly old Taru. Feeling responsibility to the deceased parents who fought for Windurst, he continued to raise the children.

It was here that Kyrie met Jurinrin, a young Tarutaru girl who was also being raised by Haruto-Maruto. Jurinrin was his granddaughter, but her parents were killed in one of the later battles of the war. Jurinrin always looked up to Kyrie as a big sister, even though she was actually a little older than her. However, when Kyrie was about 12, Haruto-Maruto passed away, and the children were all left to fend for themselves. Kyrie and Jurinrin were seperated at this time, and didn't meet up again until recently. While Jurinrin found a nice home working at a hospital in Windurst Waters, Kyrie wasn't quite as lucky, and ended up stealing to survive. She did, however, make a couple of friends who were in similar situations to her, and though she was forced into a life of crime, she was happy.

A few years later, though, Kyrie and her friends bit off more than they could chew. They were following a caravan through Sarutabaruta one night, planning to steal some of the supplies it carried. However, a group of Yagudos waylaid the caravan, and began killing the people in it. Kyrie and her friends rushed to help (for though they were thieves, they still valued life very highly), hoping to scare off the Yagudo, and even took a few of the birds down in the initial surprise. However, as soon as the Yagudo realized what was happening, they quickly laid waste to the band of thieves, killing all but Kyrie, who managed to hide her wounded body underneath one of the caravan's wagons. Eventually the beastmen left, and Kyrie, bruised and broken, struggled back to Windurst. She vowed to one day avenge her friends, and became an adventurer to get back at the beastmen for all they had taken from her.

And Kyrie's life as an adventurer is chronicled in Kyrie's journal, a link to which can be found in my sig. ^^

Brin's background story

In the year 0923 on day twelve of the eleventh month an elvaan was born. The lovely Mirya named her son Brin. Brin’s father however, had been slain fighting in the Crystal War. And so, mother and son lived together in the city of San D’Oria.
In the beginning life was rough. The Crystal War had just ended and due to the aftermath the economy suffered. With nothing but her love for her son, Mirya endured through the hardships of poverty.
Once Brin reached the age of five he laid witness to the death of his mother. Mirya had died from the sickness that falls upon most who live in the alleyways and gutters. Brin went through much sorrow and found that the only way to survive was to steal. It was thievery that brought Brin to meet Doen.
One day, Brin was picking pockets as he usually did. It was in Southern San D’Oria at the Auction House where he found a prime target. A hume wearing fine silken clothing was bidding on a Platinum Ring. Tied around his waist was a nice bulky satchel of gil. With ease, Brin was able to obtain the whole satchel. Quickly, Brin went back to his new little home in the sewers where he kept all his treasure. Upon hiding the satchel Brin turned around to go get a bit to eat. Standing right in front of him was the hume who had just been robbed by the young elvaan. Startled, Brin fell backwards on to the pile of treasure.
Once the hume had his gil back he introduced himself as Doen Aeoth, retired monk extraordinaire. Doen then asked the boy for his name. “Brin Tolenshire,” he replied. With wide eyes Doen asked Brin if his father’s name was Rauhl Tolenshire. Brin didn’t know much of his father but he did know his name, and yes, it was Rauhl. Doen told Brin that he knew his father during the Crystal War. They had been in a party together with a galkan warrior, a tarutaru white mage, a tarutaru black mage, and an elvaan summoner. Rauhl had been a dragoon. One day, the party came upon a horde of orcs. Overwhelmed, Rauhl, Doen, and the galka did everything they could to protect the mages. The first to fall was the summoned beast known as Ifrit. Next, the galkan fell to the deadly blades of the orcs. Once the black mage and summoner had died Rauhl took it upon himself to hold back the orcs while Doen and the white mage escaped. Doen wanted to die with his friend but he knew that someone had to protect the fragile tarutaru.
Seeing Brin’s situation, Doen took it upon himself to adopt Brin. It was the least he could do for his friend who had gave his life for his. Once Brin was ready to leave Doen took him to the chocobo stable. There he met up with his partner, Sieera, the white mage that had been in the party with Doen and Rauhl. Brin rode with Doen on his chocobo while Sieera rode on her chocobo.
So on they rode through the day. On they traveled to Juneo, where both Doen and Sieera lived. On the way they stopped at Ranguemont Pass so Brin could see his father’s grave. It was in that moment that Brin knew that one day he would become a dragoon.
Once they reached Juneo, Brin was finally able to settle down in a nice home. Doen lived by himself so there was defiantly no problem for Brin to live with him. As the elvaan grew, Doen taught him a few fighting techniques.
The years passed and in the year 0933, Brin was finally ready to head back to San D’Oria. This conclusion was made after the death of Doen. He had just been too old. Sieera was alive still but she was very old herself. Brin decided that it was time to start his adventure. Conveniently, he found a strong party that was on their way to San D’Oria. They would escort him back to his hometown since it was too dangerous to travel on foot back to San D’Oria. Once the destination had been reached Brin bid farewell to the friendly party that had helped him reach home. “Now the true adventure begins,” thought Brin as he entered the gates. “I shall make my parents proud, wherever they may be.”

why not add me?

Name: Mithy
Race: Mithra
Job: some sort of mage that casts black and white magic but also excells at bows+arrows. (RDM/RNG or RNG/RDM kinda thing)
Age:16
Homeland: windhurst

Mithy grew up a extrodonary life comparred to other kids. She had not lost a mother a father or even her older brother in the great wars. She was born before the Wars and lived through them. Her brother actually spent more time with her than her parents but when her brother wasn't around her little sister was there no matter how annoying. Her older brother had just become of age to fight in the war right when it started.

Mithy has a very protective nature to those she knows and is somewhat jealous to an extent. Unfortunatly she is rather cold and rude to those she dosn't know but once she knows someone she goes into her protective self.

Trained for a very young age to excell at the bow they discoverd she had magic abilites that more taru had but was much rarer in a mithra. So in addition to working night and day for her archery skills she was also sent to a magical school for the gifted. The class was compossed of 18 people. 15 tarutarus (7 male and 8 female) and 3 mithras (2 female including Mithy and 1 male) Mithy hit it off very well with the other mithras (especially the male) but had a hard time coping with the tarutaru. some of them seemed to hate her even though (on accident) she had stepped on 2 or 3. There was 1 female taru and 1 male taru studying to be WHM and BLM respectivly that were close friends of the other female mithra. So in the end the whole group of friends was Mithy a male and female mithra and a male and female taru. Unfortunatly being Mithras they had a much harder time learning at school and in a few years her female mithra friend dropped out and started theiving to get what she wanted. It was all right to Mithy and the others because she always robbed in the opposite side of windhurst. She never stole much major...mostly alot of food. But eventually she started to learn the deadly arts of the ninja but never forgot her theiving past. The male mithra passed through school and left one day on a long trip. 2-3 months later he returned with slightly bulky armror covering him but the same smile on his face. He had become a paladin sworn to protect all he cared for. He never forgot what he had learned in school and could cast spells..just not as easily. He was a good deal better at white magic than black magic but he could still do both. The tarus had passed in their classes to become the mages of their choice. The female was a WHM the male was a BLM and Mithy passed as a RDM. All though she still constantly used bows and arrows. Then the decided to all go out and explore as a group in the wild. Mithy's older brother came with them bringing along his best bow and his arrows. He also rememberd his spells he learned doing exactly the same thing as Mithy. 2 magical Mithras from the same family with non-magical parents was one of the rarest possibilities that could happen. So they all headed out...

(Also Mithy has a group of mithras that consider her their hero. The leader is a male called konohomaru. They are always asking Mithy about things or asking her to play.)

Nice profile, java. ^^ I'm assuming that the friends of Mithy are other players you know in the game. And that the male Mithra is a Mithra that you know is played by a guy. XD Only problem I see is that you say Mithy is 16 years old, and yet was born before the Crystal War. THe Crystal War happened 20 years before the game, so she'd kinda have to be at least 21 to have been born before it. But it doesn't matter; still a nice story. ^^

No one ever said the profiles had to be at the same time the actual game is. Just seemed to be in Vana'diel. If you want me to fix it I will.

And actually The female mithra is a friend i do know in game and so is the male tarutaru. Once I update my thing further you will meet another of my friends. Everyone else has pretty much been invented of my own. O...and Mithy's admirer (konohomaru) and his group of mithras and tarus I pretty much just stole that from Naruto =D.

Well I decided to redo my Role-Playing Profile. Here it is please tell me what y'all think.

Name: Pirogoeth
Race: Mithra
Job: Monk
Age: 28
Homeland: Windurst

After seeing the horrors of the Great War, and having all her family and friends killed by the beastmen, she moved to and old abandoned house in Port Windurst. She has spent the last eight years training in the ways of the Monk, so she could properly defend herself, and the Thief, so she could provide herself with food by stealing from people. She has set forth from Windurst in order to kill every beastman in the world by-means nessary even if it means sacrificeing her fellow Adventurers or herself do so. Those who have seen her fight call her Pirogoeth "The Berserker" because of the fact that when she fights nothing deters her from the kill, and that she would sooner die than to run from a fight.

very nice indeed dammien.

One thing I'd like to ask though. (to everyone not just dammien) i
Has anyone else noticed that all the stories but mine involve someone in the great crystal wars dying? I just feel a little lonely out there in right field. (but hey.. i can order drinks from the vendor) with no one else that isn't driven on ambition.

Faedryth was a man apart. He knew not from whence he comes nor to whom he was born. Apparently, he was found in the western lands, and had spent his life on the move. Since he was 8 years old he had fended for himself. One thing troubled him though....he was hunted. Not knowing by whom or for what reason constantly weighed on his mind. He merely attempted to keep one step ahead of whoever they might be.

At 19, Faedryth is still young. His life had not been easy and he had few friends with which to share his sotries with. Home was wherever he was at the moment, though he felt most at home in the woods around San D'Oria. He had fallen in with a rough crowd earlier in his adventures. Dauperiat had enlisted him, not completely unwillingly, early on into the Thieves Guild. Faedryth quickly learned with little tutelage and has since become a master thief. In his travels, he has aqcuired many unique items to help him on his journeys, again not all legally.

Recently, his journeys have taken him to far away lands. Namely Windurst. Though he had seen some of the other races, it was usually at a distance as he avoided the major roads. He had inherited little of the racial hatred that swept Vana'Diel, he had never been taught to hate. With his first contact with the Mithra, he knew he was trapped. Though they treated him with utter contempt as it seemed they treated all others. They seemed to tolerate or even enjoy the company of the Taru-taru, but Humes were not on most Mithra's friends list. What was it about the cat women that attracted him so? He could not say for sure. The way they carried themselves with such fluidity and grace, the mischevious attitudes, the indecent amount of clothing all added up to place them constantly in his thoughts.

Recently, he has felt a need to record his journeys. He was not sure how long he would be able to keep ahead of those hunting him. Only a few steps seemed to separate his elusive enemy and himself of late, and with no records of his life, he would be forgotten. Of all things in life, that was the one thing he would not allow. This is the story of Faedryth...

It all started WAY back in Windurst as a tiny Tarutaru...

I was playing in the grassy plaints of Saratabuta by myself as usual. I'd been outcast by the Windurstian society as a "freak" because of my inability to speak the native tounge... Apparently, some of my rivals in the school of magic thought it necessary to play a trick on me. While stalking an interesting looking ant the size of a grain of sand through the blades of lush green grass, I was nabbed inside of a sack! How indignifying! A burlap freakin' sack! To add to my troubles, I was starting to be beaten by clubs until I decided it was a good idea NOT to move anymore. My tiny body was carried off the ground and I feel asleep inside the bag...

... Three days later, still not allowed out of the bag and not being fed anything, and still not being able to see my captors, the wagon I presumed we were riding in started to ride over cobblestones, and I knew we were reaching some form of civilization. Where the hell were we? I dared not move from fear of being beaten yet again for making a motion of sound. Nevertheless, a sharp pain came from the back of my neck and everything went black.

Again, I awoke, but this time in a cage. How much worse can it get... tall Elvaan people surrounded me, in cloaks and capes and bearing stern countenances. It made me shiver, the icy glare of these tall folk I'd only seen from the ocassional trade carrivan traveling across the sea from the port town of Mhura, which I'd only dreamed of visiting. Where was I, and why? I was pulled to my feet by the rope fastened around my neck. "You're mine, little one," smiled a vile Elvaan man, shorter than the rest and who bore ugly features. So my life of servitude began...

Cleaning and caring for the master's pets became part of my daily tasks for the next few years. If I did not clean something properly or dance for his entertainmen, I would be beaten and whipped so badly I could hardly stand. Yet, if I couldn't work the next day, the punishments would become even harsher. The sight of one of the other servants being dragged away with arms limp and neck hanging low leaving a trail of fluid behind persuaded me I either needed to get stronger, or get out.

Opportunity opened the door for my escape a few years later after that. My canary-blonde hair had turned to grey from the stress and worry placed on me. Tarutaru three times my age hadn't endured such trails, except for maybe the War Warlocks back in home Windurst. I remembered how poorly they'd treated me for being different, and how I was being treated now. At that moment, my life took another turn. I chose to become a killer. Although I wouldn't like to unleash the full details, I desposed of the master when on an errand run, incapacitating his guard hound with a poison I'd concocted through vigorous study, and using the same poison on his meal without him knowing. He died three days later, and I was released from my servitude. Finally, release, in a foreign land.

For the first time, I realized I wasn't outcast for the way I talked. Before, I'd been outcast because I was a servant to an evil, evil man, and now that stigma was gone. I was allowed a fresh start. From what I'd learned and sneaked from his tomes, I'd acquired some minor magical talents that I'd forgotten from my days as a child in Windurst. Things started to come back to me, such as how to fight with a knife, wildlife survival, all while living outside in an area I soon learned to be the Ronfaure region. Ronfaure... I hadn't paid enough attention in my studies to remember what area this was in, or if it was hostile, but most of the travelers seemed nice enough. I would make an attempt to enter the city walls the next day!

So, here I am, in San d'Oria, home of the proud and noble Elvaan people (I still have a problem trusting them), and while they're not warming to a little outcast Tarutaru, they sure don't beat me and call me names. I've honed my survival skills from my time alone in the wild as a thief, getting by on my wits which are sharp as my daggers' edges. Perhaps, someday I can liberate others that are persecuted. Afterall, those who are least suspected often happen to be those in control of things... :)
