You really aren't that bright, Avalar. If WoW and FFXI are your only MMO experience, you cannot even begin to formulate an opinion the the subject of universal RMT activity increases.

It's like a guy who walks in to a homocide scene without seeing the body or the weapon and trying to claim how the victim was killed.

Frankly, I'm not going to wade through this hideously composed post just to tell you the same thing again. Your "opinion", since you choose to call it that, goes against known facts, and your "experience" is minor at best.

Frankly, I don't give a crap what defense you have for it, your statements are inaccurate. There's no reason to respect an opinion formed around a known inaccuracy.
 
Your post was really neatly put together Avalar, but for some reason I just couldn't force myself through it. Somehow it looked like a wall-o'-text, with grammar and paraphrasing.

Why is that? Maybe because you spent too much of your post with useless uneccesary information abotu what an opinion is. Basicaly more then half of it looked like you explaining what an opinion is. Basically, it was like a bad book, where you read the first words and go "... this is boring", and throw it away in order to read another book.
 
My explanation on what an opinion was stated to clarify the true meaning of an opinion, since alot of you mistook my opinion as me basing it on what you say are my "facts".lol now I have to have a masters in MMO to base an opinion about something? I'm not all that bright? Dozens of people try MMOs for the first time,... and have some issues with the game, not to mention clear indications of an rmt problems that has poplluted MMOs since the days of EQ,..it makes them wrong?

I'm sorry if my posts bore you,..frankly,..maybe if I stick in a few degrading phrases and mindlessly commented statements about how all of you who disagree with me so harshly couldnt measure to the intelligence of a 5 yr. Hmm maybe thats what makes discussions interesting to read. Im the only one who actually had something ballsey to say,..and Im being chastized for it. /sigh I post,..to defend myself and my comments,..which are based not based on fact,my opinion.I stated that clearly before.

You want me to stop typing,..then leave me be,..or if you wish to comment on my posts,..do it in a civil manner. I mean come on, thats what separates us from animals,..oh but Im sorry, it seems to me that monkeys are taking up knew hobbies these days and think they can have intellectual conversations by being belligerant and crass.

Actually there are several animals which are just as 'civil' as we are.

Not that you'd probably do any research to know that.

Edit: Oh, haha, my bad, you were the same person from earlier in the thread. Either way, your BFF Jill said something stupid and got called on it, get over it.

I'm usually not very critical of grammar, but I work for a newspaper, and if my editor saw me typing /that/ poorly, she would beat me to death with my own fist.

That aside, the flame, if you can call it that, was more interesting than the interview quote this thread was linked to for.
 
What's up with WoW fans always implying that FFXI players haven't tried any other MMOs (or else of course we'd have seen the light and rushed over to Blizzard's welcoming arms)?

Protip: A lot of us have.

Skaw's probably played EQ, since he brings it up fairly frequently. I play City of Heroes/Villains--a game that's also been around about as long as FFXI, with far fewer players, that still gets a major update every couple quarters. Oh, and guess what? No need to look for a party in that game either! No need to rely on an Auction House to make money! (It only just had an AH system put in!) Hell, money is largely unnecessary in that game, and was mostly worthless until the patch before last! Oh wai--surely me playing FFXI still means I must have been hit on the head.

Oh, I'm also in the Tabula Rasa beta.

It's not ignorance of how other games work that keeps many of us playing FFXI, or who return to FFXI after having played WoW. Maybe, just maybe, we actually -like- playing FFXI.

I know bitching about the game has been fashionable since time immemorial, but very few of us pay our $15/month or whatever to be tortured. Hell, even the people that have quit tend to hang out here, so they must get some enjoyment out of the conversations, most of which tend to be FFXI-centric.

Kinda wish people would read everything thats typed instead of skimming and formulating their own hypothesis on this subject. I'm not gungho for WoW, I actually like both games. Never knew this forum and the content heavingly weighed on grammar,..I feel like I'm back in highschool where the popular kids would pick on the new kid because he spoke his mind. Well since I had no postive ratings before posting this, my qcdn rep has suffered greatly, but this rating doesn't define me as a person.

Tons of people have their own opinions and their are a large majority of people who are currently competeing for the title as "The Biggest Asshole", but I for one don't wish to run that way, although it seems I wasn't given a choice. These posts weren't intended to attack anyone or any group that played FF, it was to simply express that if others can make a general comment with no basis of a factual material, then any ordinary average joe can do the same. I made my statments and through the posts I see people degrading my intelligence, stating that my opinions are wrong, as well as stating what SE developers stated was fact and thats ok with me, but read carefully,...not once have you seen anyone take my posts for what they are and back up SE truth. The only individual who attempted to state anything worth posting inregards to my posts was Romper and I gave him credit for speaking his mind and doing it in the way it was suppose to be addressed.

To all the mudslingers who discriminate against me for my thoughts, kudos to you,hope you feel like you achieved something meaningful. For all who focus on my grammar as if these weren't written intended for me to win a Nobel Peace Prize, continue to rate me down. Just know, that anyone that knows me in this game knows that I'm not the douche bag you are all attempting to make me out to be, I'm a regular guy with thoughts, that likes to have a good laugh. Just because you don't agree with what I say doesn't make me a moron, just means that I like to think out of the box.

what i don't understand is why Avalar is spending so much time flamming a game hes is paying money to play. if you don't like the game then don't play it.

if you already quit then please go flame ff11 at the wow forums and stop derailing threads here.
 
I stated a fraction of the games imperfections because SE players tend to migrate, and the seemingly increasing number of people that were leaving was due to rmt vermin, but that just wasn't the only issue. The issues I stated that haunts the game could be the reason as well. So many people complain about the games difficult and how much you have to rely on people to complete anything, that could be the problem. To me,...it seems as SE was pawning there decrease in players on rmt, which is one of many reasons. Thats why I took that standpoint and stated clearly, before you go criticizing another game, be sure to fix any problems you have with yours,doing so will make you look like a hyprocrite.

I don't take anything personal around here, I just find it a bit frustrating when a certain individual purposely goes around a leaves negative comments to destroy my rep in the game and on the forums. Yes, thats why I have that bright red mark that I will proudly wear, because little old me pissed someone off enough that he has made it his business to rate a majority of my posts negatively even when I stating something that isn't disrespectful in any shape or form. Its childish and cowardly tactics like that that make people a bit reluctant to state their opinions.
