The foot battles were awesome, but I couldn't stand the gear battles. Who gives a giant robot a sword?

hehe ^^ the story was far greater than all other RPGs I've played ^^ and yes.. the battles were awesome :D the only thing that sucked was the decrease in gameplay in the second disc

Haha, yeah. You watch that pendulum cross for about three hours I think.

Dammit, now I want to play it again.

The combo system was so cool. Hagan was my favourite move. Fei would say "Hah! Hah! Hah! Hah! N'goolia!" when he did it.
 
oh ya ~_~ I just restarted yesterday ^^ I am trying to beat that Rock-Paper-Scissor guy 5 times in a row.. I can get up to 4 wins in a row.. but that last one... ><
 
I know someone who couldn't get past the sewer part where you get Rico
 
ugh >< that part was annoying though.. getting around.. (another thing tough about Xenogears.. getting around the dungeons) and then the boss for the sewers was a pain last I remember.. but it's been a long time since I played it
 
I would recommend with all my Taru-Waru heart Skies of Arcadia. It came out on the Dreamcast but you can get one on the Gamecube as well. It's still one of my favorite games of all time.

I would also suggest the Legaia series as well as Tales of Symphonia. Fun titles that don't follow the traditional FF style of battle.

If you still have your old school SNES about, I know I couldn't get enough of Illusion of Gaia. Wicked title along the same gameplay as Zelda.

I <3 Illusion of Gaia. That was an excellent game. If youre looking for old school, you could always download some Roms of games. Sites are hard to find these days, ones that work anyway, but when you do theres a treasure trove of games. If you like the LoZ series, I would suggest you play this game on Sega Genesis called 'Crusader of Centy'. Its a pretty fun game too. Also, I have to agree with the Legend of Legaia and the Skies of Arcadia games. Both are really good. Legend of Legaia has some awesome summon-spells, and Skies has wicked ship-to-ship battles which are, as of yet, unparalleled. Also pick up any dragon warrior game you can for ps/ps2. Those are wickedly excellent too.
