Rumor I gleemed - FFVII PS3 Remake

Found this in another message board. It's unconfirmed at the moment but loosely translated it says: FF7 Remake Will be announced. 31/1/07.... FF7 10th anniversary day.

There's been alot of rumors flying around about the aniversery this year. No rumor is confirmed, but SE has said they are doing SOMTHING for the aniversery, and a remake isnt out of the question.

I'm skeptical, but a remake of FFVII for ps3 would get me to buy the system just for that title alone if there was nothing else released for it, I'm not an FFVII fanboy, but the thought of that game in nextgen(or is it thisgen) graphics just astounds me.

So, 1-2 days if it's true til this announcement eh..

Well, we'll know what they're doing in two days. They said they had an announcement to make on that day, just no hints at what it will be. But a VII remake on the PS3 would definatly help the sales of the console.

Oh in 2005 people were saying that there would be an announcement on Jan 31st of 2007? Weird. I missed any rumor with such specificity.

While "back in 05" they had the tech demo, the new information is regarding the VII 10th aniversery. While no new information regarding a remake is anywhere, SE has announced that SOMTHING big is being announced in two days. And seeing as we already have a movie and many sequals/prequals, a remake is seeming more possible than it was even a month ago.

I know that, and I've always advocated that they will infact remake FFVII. My point was that this isn't still "2005" because it is indeed new info.

In 2005, all evidence pointed towards "no." But with Square announcing the anniversary thing and that we'll be in for a big surprise, I wouldn't be too surprised (even if that is the intention >_>) if a remake of FFVII turned out to be just that.

A remake of FFVII would be nice, but it wouldn't compell me to buy a PS3. Yet.

Or maybe it's the continuation to Dirge of Cerberus. The secret ending left it open for, at least, one more game. Nomura said that he'd like to do that game. Maybe they've been secretly working on it for a while. I know the KH team was working on FF13 Versus, but what about the Dirge team?
