I am very much against the overzealous prosecution of offenses like this. I think there's a case for the out-and-out decriminalization of many kinds of drug abuse, and non-violent cases like this would be a prime example. At the very most, he should be getting help, not punished.
On a more primal level, however, I must guiltfully admit to a strong feeling of Shadenfreude.
This is, after all, a man who once said that even the most minor of drug offenses were limitted to the scum of the Earth, and warranted prolonged imprisonment. That is without mentioning, of course, his ultra-conservative blowhardedness.
