Sad Movies?

Braveheart makes me teary eyed. So does Superbad, he so shoulda gotten to hit that.

The Green Mile, Catch and Release

As gay as it sounds, I wanted to see "Definately. Maybe." But it's because I'm a Ryan Reynolds fan.

...lucky bastards engaged with Scarlett Johanson now...

The Bridge to Tarabithia(sp)

The Joy Luck Club is a very good movie based off of a book. I've seen it many times and even now I still tear up every time I watch it. It is also a great movie for daughters & mothers to watch together I think :)

What Dreams May Come. It's sad but sweet. It always makes me cry.

Yeah this one made me cry too. Leaving Las Vegas is a good sad movie. City of Angels gets me in parts, especially the ending. The Lion King. If you're up for a really depressing movie, Requiem of a Dream is right up there with Trainspotting but both of those have some skin-crawling moments in them so be warned.

Would agree with this. Good movie, but very sad.

Grave of the Fireflies
- very Sad despair type Anime , but very very very good; you will cry during this movie.

To name some others:
A Walk to Remember
- another movie that you can't help but to cry.
Moulin Rouge
Legend of 1900 - watch it, it's good.
Where the red fern grows - sad movie, even sadder book (book much better)
Saving Private Ryan
the guardian
Schindler's list
My girl
Dances with Wolves
Glory
Butterfly Effect
eight below
Old Yeller
city of angels
Fluke
Donnie Darko

How is Donnie Darko sad? It's more of a mind fuck movie.

Donnie Darko just had a sad ending. That didn't make it a sad movie. It's like saying Oceans Eleven was a Rambo action packed movie because of the one scene with guns.

I put everything in spoiler just so I don't ruin anyone's viewing of a good movie you should've seen A LONG FUCKING TIME AGO.

Spoiler:
Well yeah, but what's the movie without its ending? Sure, some parts didn't make sense when you first saw it, but it all falls into place to reveal that Donnie is the one who has to close the tangent universe. When you're done watching the movie, you don't say "The bunny was pretty trippy.". You say "Well, he's dead. He's dead because he has to die to make everyone happy.".

I don't know, maybe the Adobe After Effects dazzled you, or you laughed when you heard "kiddie porn dungeon", but I left with a different message when I saw the movie.

My mind was a little focused on the time travel aspect. I was too busy making sure there were no plot holes or paradoxes which tends to happen with time travel.

And it really was a awesome fucking movie. If you haven't seen it and you're reading this, you're a twat who should be watching it now.

Yeah, the director's cut is really something else. There's only a few movies I would actually rewatch with the commentary, this being one of them. The director explains his view of the story, and there's so many scenes that go a lot longer than the original.

I agree with "Click" and "What Dreams May Come".

"The Notebook" of all things gets me every time.
"Ghost" used to scare the bejeezus out of me, but it's in my sad movies category now.

For me though, simultaneously the saddest and happiest movie (re: I cried, then felt exceedingly good at the end) was "The Passion of the Christ". But that's for different reasons entirely than why I'm sure you're looking for a sad movie.
