I felt I would share info I have learned about Salvage. If you have any info please add and I'll be happy to add info. Ask questions and I'll try my best to help respond and im sure others here can help too once we know more about this. In the meantime this is the facts I have learned.

Facts
-You can use medicines in Salvage along with foods, from my understand all meds and foods work. I have not literally tested everyone but have seen multiple foods/meds used.

-Sneak/Invisible works, yes medicines wise it does work as I'd assume it would also work magic wise but I did not get to the point where I could cast any magic.

-You do NOT start out with items to cure, heal, remove, boost effects of any sort. This is nothing like besiege where members automatically are give items

-When you die there is a EXP loss.

-No buffs carry in to Salvage from the outside area/entrance. All buffs/effects are removed.

-Mobs do AGGRO, all mobs read "impossible to gauge" but as stated sneak/invis works therefore you can sneak around mobs that detect by sound and sight. I have yet to find a mob that was detecting by True Sight on the map bhaflau remnants.

-You are given a map layout at the start of the Salvage.

-To Enter Salvage you must be on ToAU mission "Passing Glory" or above, along with 2k ASSAULT POINTS in any of the assaults.

Mapping
Note, I have done the mapping to the best of my knowledge and screenshots. I can not promise every single mapping piece is correct and I will adjust once I learn and see more. THIS IS THE MAP OF BHAFLAU REMNANTS

MAP1

PORTAL

MAP2: I didnt get to learn enough about this map

MAP3:didnt learn enough

MAP4:???????????

I Find it very hard for even 18 members to make it through all these maps killing all the mobs. There are several mobs together, apart, and each level they become harder which I can confirm due to how hard each hit. I cant confirm of a Mega Boss but as I got to the last parts of each map near the portals there typically were mobs I had not seen anywhere else on that map.

WHEN YOU USE PORTALS ALL MEMBERS HP/MP are restored and ALL members are portaled out of that map to the next

MOBS
MAP1

MAP2

MAP3
NO Pics, I got one pic before I died of trolls. Basically MAP3's first room had 4-5 trolls in it along with other mobs. Small and contained rooms with lots of mobs

ITEMS
Pic Says it all

That is all I have, if you wish to add more please do so... this event seems very interesting and requires a bit of teamwork effort and communication. I have yet to know where the gear items come from. I assume they are from tougher mobs or a boss. Hope this helps some of you learn a bit about the facts not stated on some wikis yet.

Placeholder for more info...feel free to add info to this thread til we know or find a site with more info on Salvage

Monk, Warrior, Ninja, Theif and Puppet Master are choice jobs for Salvage assuming they all have hand-to-hand skilled up.... lol gogo skill up parties!

Well yea so far starting out you must meele down the mobs H2H, so any jobs good with H2H works. Once someone finds more info on maybe possible other ways to unlock weapons and other things, H2H might not be a big factor. Til then H2H rocks the mobs to start off.

Just something to say, but I just finished this with a group a bit ago, and on the first floor we had Wamouracampa, not Erucas.

We also went left and in the upper right branch-off room, there was a NM Bomb called "Mad Bomber." It blew up, no items.

And just a note, if you're a mage of any kind, besides Summoner.. don't take ability unlocking cells before all melees have it. Any melee Job Ability besides Tame, and weaponskills > Divine Seal.

It's about team work. And getting your team stronger should be second priority after getting your team more durable.

wow good job on this.

Pitcutures of the items aren't loading for me.
I would like to mention that ive discovered the new items aresellable which means you can take them outside of salvage and they arent temporary. In theory salvage linkshells or groups can stockpile these in farming sessions and then use them all in a later salvage for a win.

NOT CONFIRMED

But it seems Crawlers were dropping cell that removes stats penalty and bombs were dropping weapon and subjob cells. Doing this again, I'd probably sneak (with oils) by the first 2 crawlers and go directly for the first bomb in hallway. Killing the first 2 crawlers just seems like a waste of time at this point, there are more ahead. Weapon > more STR for now I'd say.

I'd give subjob cell to /war people so they can get Double Attack and Attack Bonus, even if they can't voke yet.

Anyone made it to the magic cell mobs? Can they be slept? If so, I was thinking... (ok a bit biaised but meh...) What if you give the first 2 weapons cells to a rng with sleep bolts (I think you also need one for ammo, not sure)? A ranger firing sleep bolts could probably solo bombs faster and safer then 18 people having a whiff contest. Just a thought.

BTW Bombs won't drop anything if they self-destruct.

Edit: Nvm, I just read the text for the weapon cell, seems only one will unlock all 4 slots if I read this right?
Edit #2: If so and mobs can't be slept with bolts, 1 cell to a ranger means you now have someone hitting with an axe and able to shoot bloody bolt for dmg and survivability. Could work to. You also have acess to Acid, Blind, Poison/Venom bolts.

I'm pretty sure there were reports that you can't take them back in...

Correct. Although items carry outside of the area, you wont be able to re-enter til you drop any items you had received from the prior salvage

Can someone explain..is it 2k Points each person...or 1 person spends 2k Points (Like Dynamis, 1 Glass)?

2k AP from each person but you can choose any assault area to take the whole 2k from and you can use it for any Salvage area.

I like how you compiled this together, it was a fun test run, of course it's harder than it looks and takes a lot of strategy to put together. Hopefully someone will come up with an efficient strategy for everyone to use (probably the JP).

Did this just now. We got 2 Enyo's leggings and 1 Nemain's sabots.

There's 5 maps total. On the 4th map, there's a ppunch of robotic mobs, and the 5th map is just a huge room with the final boss in.

And let me tell you, that boss is annoying. Hits hard as hell >.< We got it to like 90% in 5 min, then we got kicked out due to time and wiping a bit >.>

Edit: I believe killing the Archaig thingys on 4th floor weakens the last boss. But they were rather hard themselves, and had an ugly tendency to warp out on you before you kill them...

There's also Archaic Gear in singles rather than clusters, but those warped out before we even had time to engage...

And the boss:

just like to fix something Uzor said.

Theres 6 floors not 5^^ 6th is the big room with boss, rather annoying making it to the boss and beating him in enough time with enough restrictions unlocked.

thats kind of the point. You only unlock whats necessary. Monks don't need weapons. WHM and BLM doesn't need abilities. Warrior and Thief doesn't need subjobs. Only unlock your most useful armor pieces first, then whats left over if you get cells on the way. Obviously tanks try to unlock everything ASAP, in regards to equipment.

Yeah, we know. Charcoip's point was that we moved a bit too fast, thus not unlocking enough.

Wow, that room has an awesome view of the ocean. I bet rents expensive.
Actually the top floor is above the sea

And obviously, being above the sea's surface stops you seeing it from spreading out around you to the horizon. Doesnt it? -.-
