No other job looks sexier wielding a great katana

nin is seriously overbandwagoned and gives off a impression and pleothra of undeserved power when i see noobs play it

Difference between me and you I am not gimp lol. Nor am I newb to tanking or the game :-P.

gimp= bad gear/subjob usually complements with the aspect of...

noob=doesnt know wtf their doing and people will die

i just said that since I've seen so many bad nins not saying you will be one=/ its just so common

Ironically, I spent a few hours lfg tonight on my ninja and didn't get any invites before I logged. I'd say stick with sam for now, it'll be cheaper and you can use some of the gear for ninja if you decide to level that later.

Like all others have said play what you like. If you do chose sam and you do get a hauby you should be pretty much set for until 70. Not really much other gear you need until Hachiman other than hauby and acc rings.

So essentially you are saying that you had no STR macros for WSs going through the 60s? Hauby/Brynie, and ACC rings are a very small part of the gear you need, well, unless you just want to do average DMG in your WSs.

LOL at the suggestion of Byrnie. Hauby gives more STR which is more crucial to WS at 60+ for SAM and well primarly any job that isn't THF or RNG whose primary mods are DEX/AGI/STR/CHR(???Heard CHR for Dancing Edge)[THF] AGI/STR (RNG).

What's wrong with Brynie? Personally, I would rather have a PCC and a Brynie for TP gain than a hauby and the Royal guards collar that I have, hopefully it will be a chiv[Tab] chain and a hauby in the next week or so. The Brynie is a sweet piece though, and would look dead sexy with my ouch kotes and AF helm/jihad rag.

Byrnie is a nice piece. I think with Decidence's findings, it ranks only a little lower than Hauby in DoT, but +1 versions have an edge for the Byrnie. It just depends on where you want to sacrifice the ACC to boost STR and ATT.

Not to offend any plds, but the reason there arent as many bad plds is because you have a large amount of tools to throw around to hold and keep hate. A ninja is judged in greatness on a higher level. Their dmg, their evasion setup, WS setup, keeping shadows up, not losing hate, learning that thf's arent needed for jack shit. Plds on the other had throw out shield bash, flash, voke, cure, and if they actually lose the hate they just cover the person and get applauded for it. In my personal opinion being classified as a great ninja tank takes a lot more effort then being classified as a great pld tank.

Now back on topic. I'd say go SAM. Sam is versitle for almost anything, Skillchain masters that can be the difference in a fight. It will be considerably cheaper tp take SAM to 75, and you say you enjoy it more. Play what is fun, it's a game, do whatever the hell you want :)

jk, good point. I haven't see any more difficulty retaining hate on NIN though then on PLD. And NIN can really do it lazily too post 59, since DMG is the end-all be all of hate. DMG + Provoke should be enough to keep a solid hate base.

I've seen many bad ninjas Post 59 >.> and quite frankly im amazed at how horrible some people play the job, they take so much damage, and they don't even deal out an equivalent<sp>. I still use Para, slow, blind tools at the beginning of the fight.. makes hate perfectly stable. :D

Common sense really goes a long way with ninja, such as what bof said using the nin debuffs.

PS: Bajaratt i see you nin is the same lvl as my blm, if you need a blm don't be shy if i am on.

Well, my pt is being raped by Guivre at the moment, so we might need a new blm soon. It was hilarious watching the gil sellers war over who got guivre and mpk each other, but when they both died he wandered over to my party's camp.
