Just curious how many/any people have tested this out in exp and what not. Its pretty fun to play around with. Did the math and need like +48 store TP to get a 7 hit build with this, which isn't too bad. I realize everyone here screams Hagun!!!! but i can spend 3 mil a lot better atm, as im sure lots of SAMs could. The delay is so ridiculously low with hasso, haste, march and decent haste gear on, I definitely TP hella fast. Idk what the delay works out to be with haste, march, hasso and +16% haste, but i imagine if somone does the math it TPs to 100 just as fast (or faster) as a 6 hit 450 delay build would.

Also as far as I can tell, that stupid wiki thing with it having 2.5% DA hidden is BS, but I figured it was from the get-go.

Anyways, just wondering if anyone else has been intrigued by this as well. I'm betting it would be comparable to Onimaru, just never know how things work out when its actually tested out in game vs good on paper.

And just for comparing, heres my setup using it to get me 7 hit, obviously could use a few nice pieces for SAM, like usu feet:
Head: Ace's Helm
Neck: PCC
Earrings: Brutal/Merman's
Body: Hauby
Hands: Hachiman kote
Rings: Woodsman/Rajas
Back: Foragers
Waist: Swift
Legs: Byakko's
Feet: Fuma sune-ate

I'm also curious how many people have actually gone out and parsed extensively using Hagun versus Onimaru. Onimaru is pretty underrated at +18 attack, +5 ACC and 83 Base dmg.

well it's DPS is 11.11 which just barely beats onimaru's 11.07(assuming you don't ever go over 100 tp) and shits on hagun's DPS rating of 10.00. So during tp gain it should stay about even with onimaru and far ahead of hagun in terms of damage.

however over half of most sams damage comes from ws damage and I would think the 13 lower damage rating (not to mention 18 lower attack) would certainly put it below onimaru for ws damage while they basically tie during tp gain.

here's the catch though 378*7 =2646 delay(before haste), 450*6=2700 delay so if you sacrifice no haste to get to your 7 hit build (which requires more store tp) you will reach 100 tp faster. This is where you have a potential to catch up some since you're losing out in individual ws damage but you can ws a little bit faster (roughly 2 extra ws for every 100, assuming always going at 100 tp perfectly and ignoring meditate)

comparing to hagun is a bit more difficult so I'll leave it to an actual sam to go through why a hagun beats an onimaru and/or hacchreallylongname.

and zoo when did you get back?

Yea, its one of those things where the delay is so low that you will likely get in a few extra hits per fight making it hard to tell if it will be able to make up ground on Onimaru/Hagun using only pure math. Gotta get out there and actually use it to see how well it works.

I'm really interested to see what kinds of results people have gotten with regards to Onimaru vs Hagun as well.

And Idk, been back a couple months now i guess lol. I finally joined the Robo-cop club a week or so ago, KV finally put out for me after camping that SoB so many times.

i never been a big fan of the stipulation weapons (Tp bonus and the perdu line.) i do in fact use them both, but situations are far from ideal.

ive been wanting to pickup one of those gk's for a bit now, because there are situations where you dont want to ws or are unable to ws.

need to unlock my http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Michishiba for that purpose, but it dose lack that low delay. people would just scream use sorobo if you want high dps which isnt dependable nor practical. michi dose have the crit bonus so the dps would accually be higher then it says.

my 2 cents.

I'd be willing to bet they are relatively even (to the point where uber gear would make the difference only) unless you were talking about actually skillchaining (which I think is a lost art). In the end though, Jakey is absolutely right; Parses or its all speculation.

The common consensus among most people is this:

Amano (duh) > Hagun > Onimaru.

Of course, that's with regard to merits or other VT+ mobs, HNM etc. Anything lower and you might as well use Soboro. Some people say Hagun's overrated, but I completely disagree.

If a GK is only good for merit parties it sucks.

Well... if it's good for merit parties, it doesn't suck in merit parties does it? lol.

listen to Road or you are wrong

for me, I use Hagun most the time, tried other GKs, but DMG wise, Hagun tops them all (mostly buyable ones and some rare/ex ones), maybe just me tho, but I do believe that Hagun is expensive for a reason.

stop brown nosing me lol

im still the big advocate that says hagun is not your end all GK. It's what i use the majority of the time and is what i will tell people to get.

hagun - best overall GK, highly reccomended if you have a adequete 6hit build, if not it takes a step back closer to other gk's. used primary (imho) in HNM fights or short bcnm ect fights.

onimaru - cheaper version of hagun, going to fall very short if your sitting on tp 100~150% cuz damage will be wasted and/or waiting to sc. best 300% tp weapon outside of relic and nukemaru on firesday

ushi. - my fav for exp parties, allows you to sit on tp if the need arises for added sc damage or when mob under 15%, maintains high dps and high ws damage. acc+7 on beasts (kirin, byakko, Behemoth, Cerberus, Iriz Ima)

Sorobo - for messing around basically, use best with plat strap. best weapon for subbing dnc. i wouldnt even reccomend it for /rng accually. if your subbing rng your intent is to stay away from the mobs AoE or otherwise, use a fire staff or trailer kurki.

Michishiba-no-tsuyu, Hacchonenbutsu Dangozashi; good for mobs that amesia alot (quririn, imps) or something your purposly holding tp for but want to maintain high dps (bombs, dolls)

Pachipachio - trash

Kamewari - trash, it had it's years of glory.

Namioyogi - good /rng GK, if you can accomedate for the emnity, it gives you more STR for sidewinder while allowing you to maintain GK ws's instead of staff. needs earring to make work.

Nanatsusaya - idk, trash?

Futsuno Mitama - uhh can i has it?
