Hiya, as some know iv been gone for a while. Military stuff is fun. Ill be coming back in a few weeks once i head home and get all my stuff.

So now that you know why i dont know the answer to this question....

What did they change on the sam WS's yukikaze, gekko, and kasha?

Go ahead and tell me even if its bad, i can take it!!!! :P

they reduced the damage, increased the SC damage and changed some of the added affects that gekko kasha and yukikaze do

So are people shunning at sams again?

WB Isac! How was bt? Easy eh?

Hopefully you were able to participate in the new battle stations bldg.

Yes actually i did ^^. It was cool as hell. Aside from being sleep deprived it was one of the most fun things to do. Id say more but im technically not "supposed" to mention what goes on in battle stations so PM me if your curious about what the new building is like :P.

Still wonderin how much of a decrease sams damage took. Do i still have a ptable job to come home to? :D

They're about what they were before. There's a very small increase due to the slightly better STR/DEX calculations, but they're pretty much back to what they were before the initial boost.

Damn. Aight thnx for the info ^^.

they basicly de-bandwagoned the job. the sams that were good before the update are still good.

they basicly de-meritpoint/HNMpted the job. the sams that were good before the update are still good.

Thats what i was worried about. Being good and being seen in the public eye as the desired player are not quite the same. Having to compete with other jobs that are "assumed" better then you just b/c of what job they are might as well make you worse then them anyway. Does you no good if you dont get invited :P.

Thats ok though, ill stick with the same people to pt with ^^.

the public eye doesnt always see what is true. the public eye you shouldnt give a shit about IMO cause it takes a special person to want to see if something is true for themselves. most people simply hear what others say and form their oppinions strictly from word of mouth, so to speak.

i say this. jump on your samuri yourself and see if you are happy with your dmg or not. if you are unhappy take steps to improve it. Bajarret is an experienced samuri as him for pointers. Then after that i believe you will know what you want to know.

Wise words from a wise person. Though im never happy with my damage, taking steps to improve it is a constant journy. So dont worry about that. :P

Trust me Issac brotha. Ive been a SAM for about 3 years now and done every merit there is to improve it and attained any gear I could to max its efficiency save Usukane gear. The job is still stronger now than most give it credit. I have seen hardly any DMG change on WS since this last update. Dont get me wrong, im about 100 DMG less on WS now on IT merit mobs with a Hagun. But I use soboro /nin combo in cannons. Its my way of fighting in exp, I use skillchains with the other members of the party and spam WS at 100 TP. I constantly out parse my Hagun numbers in merit parties that way. It leads to me tanking alot fighting that way but its rather easy if your skilled with /nin and seigan third eye timing. Infact I record all DMG numbers on gods for review, mainly to see how I improve over time. I found that last week on Sieryu I did more DMG on the SATA Gekko than previously ever recorded personally. Granted it was only 40 more DMG.

But keep in mind one thing. I did not play SAM for HNM or any merit parties while the broken WS Pdif cap was all out of whack. Reason being is that those numbers I knew would not stick, so they arent valid in my eyes. SE was bound to fix that error. All my numbers are from before that update.

Im still doing more DMG than a SAM could do since these updates unless they gear and merit like I did. Some people seem to have the misconception that SAM was nerfed as far back as before Hasso and Overwhelm as a merit were introduced. Thats wrong on all counts. Ignore the "OMG LAWL SAM IS NERFED AND IS LAME NOW" crowd.

If you ever need any info on SAM let me know. Its been my main job as far as ive ever played this game and have a pretty good knowledge base of anything that pertains to it.

P.S. This update actually made gear and merits on SAM matter. The exceptional SAM stick out more now since not just any SAM can do a Gekko for absurd numbers anymore. You need the gear and merits. Just no more 2k+ WS =P. Were TP whores...not spike DMG whores lol, leave that to the DRK where it should be.

But I use soboro /nin combo in cannon.

You stole my heart with this comment. Thats exactly what i do for cannon exp.

This is the only thing i usually dont do, on purpose. Personally iv found that if you some what allow others in the pt to do slightly more damage then you at the start (like dont WS right away, even if you have the TP to do it), you can keep hate off of you just long enough to WS twice or even 3 times b4 the mob turns to you, and by that point the mob should be basicly dead. That being said, i never use third eye on /nin, only hasso :D.

Of corse, thats just my style, iv never actually tested it to see if it yeilds the most damage, it sure as hell makes my healers happy lol ^^.

I meant as a last ditch I have to scenario. I typically dont. Because like you said, mob dies instantly anyway so the MNK or WAR typically WS the hate back to them. I use it very rarely.

I got this regular sam I invite, though we're not static. She's sam/thf and her Gekko does 700-900 consistently still at 73-74, with Sneak Attack on. She's very skillfull in managing the party's hate, both with and without SATA. Other than her, the sams I partied did above average damage still.

Just my own account on sam encounters.
