Sanoske

I don't remember typing that "4k" <_<;

Again, $4k over the span of 2 years isn't "REALLY good". I did the math in the topic, it's less than working one day a week at minimum wage. Anyone who approves of what he did literally has lost all license to ever complain about anything else that happens to them in this game since they have no problem with gilsellers anymore which are by far the most obnoxious thing in the game.

As for Sanoske, I had a dislike of the guy after he got an Oracle's Robe from our shell then ditched us to join Pansies. Finding out about this just cements my opinion that the guy only ever cared about himself and no one else. Enjoy your $35 a week and the knowledge that the people you sold it to made quadruple that. I hope you prove how little you really care about this game and the people that play it by getting the fuck off of qcdn now.

I gotta say at this stage in the game's life span, I really don't give a shit. Like Begen mentioned, there are more harmful things to the game and those who play it than gil trading.

Also, if you know you'll be leaving one day and decide to start selling off your gil, knowing you could get ~$4,000 for it OR $0.00 for it...Well, the numbers righteous FFXI fanatical purists would surely dwindle. 4 grand, or nothing...There's not much to even consider there. It's not like it's a hundred bucks or something. It's a good chunk of money that any person could actually use in RL. I can't shake my head at Sano's actions when I see the reality of that situation. It has nothing to do with the game, and everything to do with 4 thousand dollars, cash money in your pocket. As neat-O as this game is, fuck the game, lololol.

$4000 or E-rep; that is the question my dear Watson.

Keep ragin, OP.

I would prefer that anyone selling gil cut out the middle man, IE the RMT companies. Would make a hell of a lot more money and there is really no damage being done.

Seriously. If they're going to give it away in huge clumps or sell it off. Why not quietly advertise and sell to those you trust as honest individuals. People you feel would not cause harm by purchasing huge sums of gil. The argument COULD be made that giving it away to friends could very well cause the same issues, cause the same damages. Who's to say your very best ingame buddies don't pull a dick move.

If it's going to be done anyway. That would certainly cut back on the number of RMT Companies getting their hands on it.

Kinda the lesser of 2 evils. Doesn't make it right, just makes it .. the lesser of 2 evils.

Uh oh, he broke out the curse words. I think I'll stay around though, QCDN does contain more than people getting outraged over FFXI.

Oh, and to Zoolander... my original though process in selling to the companies was that there was less of a chance someone would screw me out of money. Yes, shady RMT companies are not the best "safety", but oh well. By the end I was just getting the hell out of Dodge, so it was simply convenience.

You could break it down to $35/week if you wanted, subtracting monthy dues and all that shit. But here's how it really works: EVERYONE forks over monthly dues, and if everyone literally had the option of a handful of exit payouts totalling 4 grand versus nothing, anyone with a brain would choose 4 grand. And not because they are "greedy bastards" or anything like that. We could still use the $35/week example if you really want though. Again, that's $35/week, for 2 years that you either collect, or don't. Either way, after the 2 years you've got the money...Or not.
It's not like he was "working" for $35 bucks a week. We already know gil sellers don't make good money. He played the game the way he wanted to and collected a 4 thousand dollar payout near the end. I'd take the money. I must be SO selfish and all about myself.
:omg:

Of course, no comment on the rest, lol. You might as well stick around like Chasym did for that constant reminder of how hypocritical some of the people are around here. This whole thing reminds me of middle school, honestly. The popular "bully" kids always got the laughs and the applause publicly because well, if you said anything bad about them then nobody liked you. So even the people who absolutely cannot stand gilsellers are pressing lip to cheek because you're well-liked around here to save their own face. I'm sure privately they think you're a piece of trash like myself and many others actually have the balls to say publicly. So again, enjoy your $35 a day. If it's really life changing money to you, I kinda feel bad for you. Hope you spend it on some good karma.

Not that I approve of RMTing but 4k is still 4k. Money is money now matter how small the amount. At least that's how I see it. :x

Typo'd :/

Ah as the person who dragged Sanoske in to this game along with another real life friend, I have known the entire time. And have been laughing for years.

Is that where yo bought your gil from?

I personally don't know Sansoke from a piece of blown rubber tire sitting muddy in a ditch.

What I do know, and what I personally can attest to is paying over $900p/year to play the game. Now, in the 2 years I've had it I've played maybe 1 year. I have never personally been affected (that I can tell) by RMTs and their practices, maybe I have but I'm not 100% sure I can say I have been.

Out of that $900 p/year it takes how much time to accomplish anything substantial ingame. I'm not complaining about the time. What I am saying is, if/when I put in my 6 years, IF I have a lot to show for it but have decided to call it quits, and again IF I can get some of my $5,760 back from selling off my gil I wouldn't look cross eyed at that.

Lesser of two evils, I would probably choose to give all my stuffs away seeing as I have been given a great deal of help thus far and truly do appreciate the assistance I get. I'd pay it forward.

4k mmmmmm... ZOMG thats my 60inch LCD T.V.

well... i originally thought you just sold it all when you quit.. but it said in good times thread that you sold gil over two years... i was gonna say.. shit you played for 5 years. who gives a shit if you sold all your stuff at the end.

but since you did it for two years that is a little... well.. ya you were basically rmt..

isnt cool... nothing really to say now cuz you quit and im sure you care less about anyone ranting about it...

well.. not cool man.. not cool. but w/e i guess have funwith the gil lol. im sure youll be fine.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who would feel dirty about selling off like this.

It also kinda makes me happy that I did not give away more gear than I did.

When I quit, I gave my account to Audino. He sold a lot of my gear (with my permission to do so) and it helped him on his way to getting his Gungnir. To me, that's worth way more than any RL money I could've gotten from the account. Now I'm back playing again and I've already replaced what I let him sell (aside from BRD gear cause I hate that job, lol), so I know I made the right choice.

Personally I think that the idea of selling gil, especially for only 4k over two years, is pretty dumb. But if you're that desperate for the money then whatever I guess.

The really sad thing is that you had to post it in a "look at me" thread in good times. That thread had no point except saying FU to the the qcdn community. Pretty sad bid for attention. =/

If it's really life changing money to you, I kinda feel bad for you. Hope you spend it on some good karma.

Did I ever say it was life changing? Nope, can't say I did.

However, to a 22 year old guy paying his own college bills,etc... yup, it helps. That's for damn sure.

And if people say/think I'm a piece of trash based on this, more power to them. I'm glad you have the balls to say it to me. But you and I both know that at the end of the day, the opinions on my actions within the game mean almost nothing.... since they only would affect my in-game rep, and I'm not in-game. Not saying peoples opinions in general don't mean anything, because they do, just not on FFXI. I never spent much time on QCDN outside Crafting forums and the Non-FFXI related sections anyway.

This is such a touchy subject. But I agree with Begen, money is money. Also who's to say that other people we all know and care about haven't done the same thing but just didn't publicize it like Sanoske did because they were worried how their so-called "friends" would treat them. I guess we know now.
