Yea should of descrribe that one huh  This is a party with 6 thf or 5 thf and a mage. I've see it go with 2 thf/war 4 thf/nin. I was thinking though this could be super fast with 6 thf/rng spaming sleep bolt, acid bolts, and bloddy bolts (no need for mage or down time) along with SATA every 10 seconds. I have only see this once and never been in one, just curious if this was a good idea to try to start.

Sounds like mob would be hopping around so much the thfs would have trouble landing the sa+ta. I would have to see it to believe, doesn't sound to feasible.

Only problem is if the mob doesn't turn. A mithra has a lot more dex and SATA would probably do more thus making more hate. If say an Elvaan with the least dex goes next, its possible he might not even turn the mob. Not to mention the difference in gear from one player to another might make it more difficult. This is one of those ideas thats good in theory but really not practical.

 never imagined anyone would think of an idea like this... it "looks" fun but... someone go try it lmao

I imagine it could be practical post-60 with the assassin trait, but in all honesty I'd like to see 4 thieves, a nin, and a bard try to xp. The thieves could give their trick attacks to the ninja or one of the thieves standing opposite the ninja. SATA when applicable to one of the two, preference to the ninja. Skillchain...probably wouldn't need it with 4 thieves doing 300 damage 8 times a minute with that bard, disregarding weaponskills. I imagine half the thieves could use their weaponskill during one fight, and the other two the next fight.

So that's two thieves doing 700+ damage per fight with sa/ta/weaponskills, and two thieves doing 400 damage per fight with sa/ta's. That's 2200 damage in 30 seconds. Throw in DoT and the ninja, and that'd probably work well while keeping the tactics pretty simple.

But until 60 that junk would be a burning nightmare of chaos. If you screw up, your trick attack misses and it all derails >.<

It looks like a novel idea, but at the same time the number of mobs you can fight are very limited and the whole setting up process is gonna be really, really hard.

File it under "wouldn't it be nice if" and move on, I think.

I can see it working, but I have no idea how you'd set it up. The most Thieves I ever see lfg in my lv range besides myself is 1-3 tops. It'd have to be a static.

Where as some parties are based on running around an area nuking the piss out of mob after mob this one would have to pay close attention to timers.

The good news is that if something goes wrong it's not exactly going to get someone killed. If hate isn't switched over you can perfect dodge for thirty, flee to lose hate enough where it comes back to others, hide if the mob is sight aggro and ect.

It's more flexable then credited.

Back on Siren I tried this one time in Eastern Altepa Desert. I think I was around level 33 or so and we had four thieves, and two other jobs. The other jobs were miscellaneous mages. It worked out pretty good, despite the fact the other three thieves were complete idiots and had minimal equipment. If the other three thieves could perform better then the party would have lasted more than three mobs. One of the thieves was just annoying as hell and complained constantly so I just said screw it and went to go solo a worm in Western Altepa Desert for five hours.

My buddy was in a party like this a long time ago.....Back in Garlaige Citadel at around Lv34. His was a bit different from this THF party you have suggested and was very very productive. When I had to level my THF for DRK sub....I really had a lot of fun. This was my favorite party setup.

The setup goes like this:

THF => NIN => [Mob] <= NIN <= THF

BLM WHM

Now excuse me if I'm wrong. But I believe Viper Bite is the most damaging weapon skill prior level 50~60.

The skillchain was obviously Blade: Rin > Viper for Distortion.....Having 2 sets of SC partners made sure for quick battles.

THF's give it a try, find a partner and start a Viper Bite party :)
