If you actually understood the ability, you'd know that it would have no effect, as none(correct me if I'm wrong, I'm fairly sure I'm not forgetting any) have specific melee resistances.
 
Adamantoises just have insane DEF and VIT. They aren't resistant. There is no change in damage(outside of the normal halved damage) with Formless Strikes, which turns melee hits in to type-less damage with 50% Weapon Damage.

Shyrra is correct. Hellstorm is just an idiot.
