Trying to post videos on the message board on my Wii, But all of the video formats i've submitted have not be recognizable, It even asked for .mov and i converted a video to .mov and it still didnt' recognize it, The manual says that Motion JPEG is another format it recognizes, I've never worked with this format before though, Can anyone direct me to a convertor to make Wii videos, or a convertor for this M-JPEG video format.

Problm Solved Read Down to my 3rd post

Thank you i'll try it and get back to you

Oh and BTW I thought M-JPEG Was a video format such as .avi or .wmv But it's additional Video Codec, for future reference.

Thanks you, It works great, I have the files on the SD Memory Card, I just can't get them onto the hardrive of the Wii, it won't let me post on the message board like I hoped it would have let me, Does anyone know how I can get these videos on the hardrive? I'm about to try hooking the thing up to my PC Via usb port, if that doesn't work i'll check back here.

First get an SD Memory Stick, these are used by PSPs, Digital Cameras, and Digital Movie recorders, or they can be bought singally they are little square chip like looking and have SD (ScanDisk) on them.

There is a slot on the front of your Wii open the hatch (It's next to your CD Drive) there is a Sync Button (Red Button) And a slot, Put the Memory Stick into the slot.

Now go to your Wii's Picture channel, and choose SD Memory Stick, It'll take you to thumbnail type layout of everything on your SD Stick. Movies have film stripes in the bottom right corner, Pictures just show the picture

Apparently you can save your pictures on your wii by posting them on the message board (Harddrive), but you cannot do the same with your videos as of now.

I think you can play MP3s through the picture channel. I'll have to check though. I'd suggest waiting for some homebrew programs to come out if they aren't going to have any wiiware to take care of your console software needs.

Edit:

I've been sending pictures to my wii via email. I'll try out some other things.

Ahh I don't have My Wii up to internet yet, I'm going to find an adapter soon and get some WiFi, Can we hook up with our natural WiFi if we give our Console Registration Number? I would think we could like people can on DS (Or can they not?) Because that would rock for games like Super Smash Brawl

Add your email to your friend's list and you get this in your email once you're connected to the net.

Do you think we would be able to attach videos and things to the E-mail and it would put them on it's harddrive?

Trying to hook wii up to PC Via USB TO see if it acts as a removable disk, if it does that might solve my problem there, But it might take awhile to hook it up, because my USB Cable is in my car ;_; Which is in the snow with frozen doors and trunk ;_;

If windows even detected it as a drive, I think you'd most likely have to have some custom made driver by a nice hacker out there. I don't think Nintendo would make it quite that easy to fully access the internal harddrive.

Just a random note, the wii doesn't have an internal hard drive, it has 512mb of flash memory.

The reason you can't save videos is most likely due to space issues, and videos taking a very sizable chunk of space on 512mb

Ahh that explains a lot, Well my videos never took up much space but i understand now why it needs all that flash memory, I'll just be using my gig of memory stick I have. And now i'm going to stop attempting to break into my car,

So, Now my curiosity and boredom lead me to a question i have yet to find an answer for, Can we connect Wiis Via Registration number with just the natural wii WiFi Scanner? Or do we need to have Internet Access to hook up with other Wiis

I knew that but I still refer to it as the internal hard drive. (In order to differentiate between the internal and external drives. I suppose it would be better to refer to it as flash drive though.)

That's a good question. If two wiis were on the same wireless network could they communicate? Wireless networks range only goes like a few hundred yards or so max so don't expect to be able to add someone across the country without internet connection.

Shall we give it A try? I thought DS could do this, thats why people posted their DS Registration Numbers so I automatically thought Wii might be able to.

Might as well give it a try: 5817 0995 5854 2849 Theres my number, If it doesn't work it's because i don't have internet yet. If yours works it's more then likely because you have internet and i don't? Meh iono I'm just bored and trying to entertain myself.

Edit: Nevermind it won't even let me put in another person's number without internet, I'll just try agian once i get WiFi, Cya i'm off to bed.
