Scholar Confirmed as the 9th Job in FFXIV:ARR

Re: Scholar Confirmed as the 9th Class in FFXIV:ARR

I am still not enthused at all by the fact that, while they wanted to add more magic classes, out of their huge FF library of magic classes.. they pick Scholar. What? While this time around with ARR I am actually interested in playing White Mage, Summoner and Black Mage... I can chalk Scholar up beside Bard (and to a lesser extent, Warrior) for jobs I likely wont even bother touching because they either a) are boring to me and/or b) look dumb as hell.

Just to be clear, Chasym, it will be implemented as a job not a class. I'm sure that's what you meant though.

Huh? Scholar's worked mostly differently in all three or four series games it's been in. How can you be disappointed in a job when you don't even know what it does yet?

Mostly because of how it looks. But to me it really doesn't sound as fun as the other magic classes. I'm just not a fan, and haven't ever really liked the idea of the class in looks and functions.
