Apparently what was shown at the fanfest's demo char.

http://www.bluegartrls.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=26053

2hr (For the duration, both White and Black magic is enhanced. Also allow use of War Scrolls without using charge)
White Grimoire (1min recast - Gives skill boost to Divine/Healing/Enhancing skills)
Black Grimoire (Most likely 1min recast - Gives skill boost to Enfeebling/Elemental/Dark skills)
??? (Ability increases any DoT damage on target while halving effect time)
War Scrolls (Ability to use magic effectively during corresponding Grimoire)
- ??? - (Allows use of next WHM magic at half MP cost)
- ??? - (Allows use of next WHM magic at half cast/recast time)
- ??? - (Allows increased effectiveness of next WHM magic)
- Divine ??? - (Allows Curing or Enhancing single-target spell to become AoE spells. Most likely MP cost 3x, Spell Recast 2x)

- ??? - (Allows use of next BLM magic at half MP cost)
- ??? - (Allows use of next BLM magic at half cast/recast time)
- ??? - (Allows increased effectiveness of next BLM magic)
- Elemental ??? - (Allows Enfeebling or Dark-based single-target spell to become AoE spells. MP cost 3x, Spell Recast 2x)

By default Scholar main has 3 charges at 4:00 recast. You can mix-and-match War Scrolls, ie. you can use 2 charges, one half-cast one AOE-cast, on the same spell, but you'd be left with 1 charge left and have to wait 4:00 before you regain a charge.

Half-cast spells fire at 37.5% or so. Stoneskin casted at roughly 3.5 sec or so in the demo.

Weather-changing spells are considered Black Magic. Scholar will also get access to new DoT spells that are supposedly more powerful than existing ones.

-------
Spell list active during White Grimoire

Cure I (7MP)-IV
Raise I-II
Poisona
Paralyna
Blindna
Silena
Stona
Viruna
Cursna (27MP)
Dia I-II
Diaga
Protect I-IV
Shell I-IV
Blink (18MP)
Stoneskin (27MP)
Aquaveil
Paralyze
Silence
Barfire/bliz/aero/stone/thunder/water
(and about 24 more spells that aren't shown)

So it seems White Grimoire has an effect of -10% MP spell use for WHM spells. Since I didn't see Curaga, it's a good indication that Osaka (demo char) wasn't /WHM.

For Black Grimoire
Fire I (22MP)-IV
Blizzard I-IV
Aero I-IV
Stone I (9MP)-IV
Thunder I-IV
Water I-IV
Gravity (72MP)
Poison
Bio I-II
Drain
Aspir
Blaze Spikes
Sleep
Bind
Dispel
Stone Weather Spell?
(and maybe another 7 spells)

The reason Gravity is 72MP is because the Elemental ??? ability was active. Apparently it requires use of 3x MP and recast is 2x. Since Osaka did not have access to -ga either, that means that she wasn't /BLM (but still got access to Drain and Aspir).

And unfortunately, it does seem that the charges are going to work like Assult tags. Max of 3 up, 4:00 to recharge one, as I distinctly heard the person say "it's going to require 4 min recast times 3" when describing it.

DANCER:

This info is what I've been able to glean so far from the Osaka event.

Dancer JA
Trance (probable 2hr)
Samba Mode (Self-buff move)
- Drain Samba (10TP)
- Drain Samba II
- Drain Samba III
- Aspir Samba
- Aspir Samba II
- Haste Samba
Waltz Mode (Heals PT member)
Gigue Mode (Gives special status to self)
Step (required to use Flourish)
- Quick Step (10TP (Lv.1 Step) - Evasion Down effect)
- Box Step (10TP - Defense Down effect)
- Stutter Step (10TP - Magic Evasion Down effect)
Flourish
- A.Flourish (1 Step - Provoke Effect)
- D.Flourish
- R.Flourish
- V.Flourish
- B.Flourish
- W.Flourish

They said that various Flourish may require more than one level of step, and that some of the effect was to enhance WSes, convert the steps into TP, or open a particular SC. Some of the stuff I could not see because portions of the screen were obscured.

Yay, I was right about Scholar. Chapter: Elemental Presence and Chapter: Divine Presence, which makes next Enhancing magic AoE :D And good god, they basically have all Black Magic and White Magic spells, and extras... guessing they'll have both White and Black weather changing spells (so that you don't have to switch Grimoire), and Ignis/Terra/Aer/Aqua, which is stronger version of Elemental dots, with:
Ignis: Break Defense
Terra: Break Magic Defense
Aer: MP down (/tick)
Aqua: HP down (/tick)
Was also right on the increased potency thing xD

you sure are fast with the info from bluegartrls :X

Taking scholar to 75 is going to be extremely enjoyable methinks. Can't wait.

Thanks for the info.

EDIT: Powerful DoT's? Man that's going to be a fun class.

Scholar: Scholar is looking interesting. In paticular, the "gremories" have been renamed to "Arts" and they can be switched with what looks like a one minute recast. It was told that it's role is supposed to fill whatever is missing. While it seems very Red Mage-esk, it has unique a abilities that it can store as charges. The big and paticular ones include the half cast, lower MP cost but the real one that was displayed was Osaka running around to a bunch of beetles, smacking them with a Light Staff to round them up and casting gravity. ON ALL OF THEM. Yes ladies and germ, Scholar has the ability to use Area of Effect enfeebling magic.

Also as a note, Osaka didn't have skills. She got enhancing skill with stoneskin and staff skill.

AoE Enfeeble.. hmmm...

AoE Enfeeble.. hmmm...

That's an ability
- Elemental ??? - (Allows Enfeebling or Dark-based single-target spell to become AoE spells. MP cost 3x, Spell Recast x2)

Assumed name is Chapter: Elemental Presence, with the White corresponding ability is Chapter: Divine Presence

No responses on Dancer yet?

Seems with those JA's could be a new tank, depending on Flourish, hopefully more information will be revealed this weekend.

Scholar FTW! I'm going all the way with this job as of right now. Idk but the AoE Enfeebles seems good only for farming or Einherjar(?). Since all adds are supposed to be slept immediately, nobody in their right mind would tackle multiple mobs at the same time.

And, is Dancer the new tank job... 1 Step - Provoke Effect??? O.O

You and the rest of the server, lol

This doesn't look so bad, Scholar looks like the perfect job for PT Burns to 75. XD

Maybe a new option for subjob on Pld or Nin?

I dont know about you, but I'm not dancing around like a moron, swinging my sword around like a Valor Fairy.

On the jobs... I don't know, they both seem pretty interesting to level ^^ I am definitely digging Sholar however.

Oh I totally agree, I probably won't even unlock dancer, much less lvl it.. lol. Why give a job like Dancer a Provoke dance though?

because you touch yourself at night? :spiteful:

Yeah I'm taking scholar to 75 as well, its close enough to rdm but with more emphasis on magic. I think I'm going to like being able to nuke or heal effectively. :P It probably won't be an expensive class to gear either, which is another plus for me. Most of my rdm gear should suffice.

Kind of hoping not many reach 75, a lot of peeps leveled blu but it eventually tapered out.

As for dancer, it's possible with /nin sub (since they have their own provoke effect) they might be able to tank quite well. Possible accuracy down (on mob) and evasion up moves might help, and obviously utsusemi will help a tad.

It doesn't seem far fetched. Another tank and healing class was what was needed most, and it might be safe to assume thats what we got halfway. (Since though scholar can main heal perfectly from what we can infer, but they can also DD perfectly if needed too. That means dancer might also be dual purpose as either a tank or support class.)

Now if people get over the stigma of being a prancing fool, we'd have more tanks. :P

Sounds a bit over-powered to me...I really hope it's not :(

Heya Sabia, long time to see eh?

And unless their casting cut ability makes silence faster then with rdm's fastcast, they'll still be mage-raped in ballista by rdm haha.

But yeah, being able to main heal or damage just as well and access to a lot of high teir whm and blm spells does seem a bit overpowered..though I do suppose they will be holding white grimories most of the time hehe.

Even if it is, rest assured in a few weeks after release SE will nerf it down to uselessness.
