Scientific evidence sexuality is not a choice.

not this dead horse again. people still waste their time trying to scientifically prove this. -.-

Does it really matter in the slightest if it's a choice or not? Maybe some dude is born gay, or develops gay, or chooses to be gay, doesn't change anything. The concept of choice is just something to settle down bigot idiots so they can feel sympathy instead of aggression. Pitiful.

Now girls on the other hand... if you're going to walk around and be smoking hot, please consider dating my gender, or at the least, getting drunk one night and giving dudes a try.

I LOL'ed...................HARD

Cue funny joke about Neo having brain damage.

Totally ruined the moment by mentioning something that is true...

Anyone who actually thinks that people choose a sexuality is a shrimp, full of shit.

It has nothing to do with making people change their feelings. It has to do with changing laws. Homosexuals are all the victim of legal descrimination in America. Evidence leads to proof. Proof leads to change. Change is what we need.

This is not even evidence. 90 people examined. Don't even know their historic/education background. Everyone knows that people depending they have developed more have a side of the brain larger than the other, not depending on sex. @ least out of those 90 people you should had chosen 45 straight, 45 gay, and those 45 divide into 22/23 male/women with cogitative( i think its the word) properties.

Edit: Such a biased study. Clearly that guy flunked statistics.

Well what they used to do was dig up dead homosexual people and check the size of the hypothalamus in about 1% of the males it was smaller and the same percent of females it was larger, supposedly they were the truly born pure gay.

sidenote Amid just won't come out the closet

Well, there are plenty of brain-dead religious types and conservatives who think heterosexual males who've never contemplated gay sex before just wake up one morning and say "Wow, I'd really like to suck dick and never touch boobies again."

Speaking from a psychological point of view, I'd bet there's a disposition to it genetically and it can develop somewhere within the first few years of life, that's most traits really. Probably being born just "gay" or "straight" is an oversimplification.

As for choice, as far as that's concerned, I suppose some people have the ability only insofar as to appear externally straight when they're actually homosexual. How they do that? I don't know. I don't think I could pretend to be gay, and date guys if I was supposed to.

I agree it's probably not purely genetic. I think there are bound to be environmental factors at work, but it's set so early in life that you may as well say you were born that way. Certainly "choice" isn't much of a factor.

I guess it helps when you're in danger (or just think you are) of losing family, jobs, your reputation, your home or even your life. Put those factors in front of you, and you'll manage to pretend you're straight and you'll be very convincing. I didn't come out until I was in college, which was probably a double shock to my parents since they knew I was sexually active with my high school girlfriend.

It's why I celebrate when someone shrugs off all that cultural baggage and "comes out." It's also one of the reasons I won't date or fuck closeted guys; that's a deal-breaker for me.
