Just a question from a judge >.<

When we get the pictures, when exactly are the results due?

The contest will run from Thursday of each week to the Monday of the following week. The judges will have Tuesday and Wednesday to score each entry. I will post the theme and the winners on Wednesday nights, 10 PM EST. Entries must be in my mailbox (email) by the following Monday night at 10 PM EST, where I will set up a photobucket site and post each picture with a number. Each number will correspond to the person that submitted the picture, but only I know who has which number (i'm going to write it down, numbers will be assigned by the order of sign up). The judges (and only the judges) will have access to this site. The judges then score each picture on a scale of 1 to 10, ten being the highest, to one decimal place (e.g. 8.9, 1.7, 5.0, etc.). The judges PM their scores to me by Wednesday at 9 PM EST.

I don't want to be the police or anything about having scores in on time, I want to make this fun. If your scores are not in my mailbox by 9 EST each Wednesday, they don't count. If you do it twice, I'll have to consider replacing you.

Same goes for entrants, if your pics are not in my mailbox and your gil is not in my delivery box by 10 EST Monday, you will not be considered for the contest for this week. There will be no official signup thread; if you want to enter, just mail me the pic and send me the gil . If you send me the gil too late I will send it back.

It's possible I am just blind, but I didn't read anywhere stating whether or not we can enter more than one screen shot per person.

Can I submit, say, 3 screenshots? If so, will each entry require the 100gil entry fee?

Ah, good question.

One screenshot per person. If you have three, pick the best one.

The 100 gil thing is designed so it's just for fun, not a way to make cash.

Also, if everyone submitted three pics, the judges would be up to their eyeballs in screenshots, and we only have two days to judge after all.

If you post a pic with others in it please type /names off before you capture the picture. I also highly suggets you take your menu out (Num Lock, I believe) and capture the true artistic side, I'll have to see the themes before I can say anything else, lol

I've edited the rules again to reflect all changes that I've replied to in this thread.

Also, note to judges:

I changed the rules so that you do not need to have your scores in my mailbox until 5 PM EST on Thursday afternoons. I will not post the theme or winners until Thursday nights at 10 PM.

"no photo shop, but fraps is ok" i'm thinking /names to turn them off before the Screenshot would be a good idea.... don't want any of the judges favoring their friends. and the theme this week is Sarutabaruta. that includes: East/West Sarutabaruta, Gideus, Toraimari Canal, Inner/Outter Horutoto ruins.... and yes, even Balga's Dias lol i think i got 'em all >_> props on the idea tho Songi ^^ Good job

How could I not take a screenshot of Colbwa rotting on the ground in Qufim? The only thing better would have been getting the death shot instead of just coming across the corpse.

That's the theme I posted, Tsu.

I was unaware of the existance of the /names off command :shock: . Does it go with fraps or with all versions of the game?

Anyway, I posted that I would prefer shots taken in first person view for this purpose, but /names off is even better.

I did state, however, that if there are names in the picture that I will personally put a black bar over them using an editing program for the reason you stated.

I think limited use of Photoshop should be allowed. The screenshot feature isn't the greatest in the world when it comes to color correction and contrast. Witness my before-and-after pic:
