What I don't understand is...If you want to quit, why don't you just quit? You say working up the courage..it's a video game, not something like quitting smoking. Not trying to be offensive, but if you want to leave the game, just leave.

This game is addictive. All MMO's are to an extent. And I am currently quitting smoking, so i know the difference and there is little. This thread is helping though lol.

One, this post is in the flameboard section.

Two, I never start flames immediately, so thats far from being the biggest creator. The "flames" are when people take things I post the completely wrong way, like explaining the differences between first, second, and third party to them, and they themselves degenerate it into an arguement.

Three, It's nice to see you're realizing you're a pretty big idiot, and willing to end this by just blocking me out. If you wanted a reason to quit, just do it. Just quit, Coust. This game isn't even that great or fun. If the graphics were keeping you from hating so much, then the game itself is of no fun to you.

It'll be a while before they get it to be 100% compatible with Vista. It's a very different platform, so they have to recode a lot of things to make it work right all the time. I really don't like the idea that the OS uses up the graphics card. At least for me and my computer that doesn't cost $2000-$4000+...

Well, I upgraded to Windows Vista yesterday, and (of course) when I logged on for Dynamis, I experienced multiple crashes, and eventualy gave up for the night.

A lot of companies are having problems with Vista, last I checked(which was months ago,) Steam didn't work on it either.

You know Vista has this nifty feature... for every .EXE file.... if you right click and go to compatibilities tab and make it run as windows XP SP2... everything that worked before still works....

EDIT: if anyone is still having trouble setting up ffxi on vista to run perfectly, I wrote a guide on it a while back but it got lost in clutter, but I reposted it on my blog

I'm sorry but if you can't just quit a fucking video game by the time you're 28 AND have a family... Well, shit. You got a whole new set of issues now don't you? It's called responsibility. If you're not in college, then you should be focusing on a career (obviously, post-high school diploma. Don't get me started on GED's.). If you are not doing this, then you are a drain on your family, society, and life as a whole. Thusly, making you a loser. If you are this, well then... Yes, I have the right to make fun of you. Why? Because I am nothing like you. In a sociological point of view, I am higher class than a person like that. So, the jokes flow. I could care less. Stop crying to people that you need something like a few server crashes and bad graphics to quit a video game. If your life was put on hold for the game, then shut the hell up and grab a note pad. You need to write down the true priorities in your life.

I had a life before this game, while I played it, and I am looking foreward to reclaiming the life I had before should this issue persist.

there is a lot of improvement in the actual vista over RC1

I am yet to come across any software that cannot be ran perfectly by vista. Including FFXI.
