A claim got stolen from me on the boat earlier this morning. I hit a pug 3 times and mugenteg hit it with a chi blast. About 2 seconds later out of nowhere some summoner hit the pug with shiva and stole the claim from me. I was looking forward to my first kill of anything in the expansion but thanks to Se and their apparently sloppy coding I missed out on killing the pug.

Has anyone else had these kinds of glitches/problems happen to them?
 
i made a post about it and this update sucks ass as you need X hate before its "claimed" so a drk with 100tp can Ws even if you chi blasted it for say 30 they SS and have hate and u got first claim
 
My puppet doesn't claim when it Dias something. Other than that, I haven't noticed much.

Any attack on a mob that isn't doing anything will give you enough hate to claim it. This is to prevent mob stealing. So if a party has claim on a mob and it suddenly goes yellow, someone trying to claim that mob who wasn't part of the initial attack must generate more hate then the party/person had on it who was attacking the mob.
 
Strange. So in addition to their other changes there is now a minimum hate amount for claim?

If the mob is yellow and attacking someone else, yes. I beleive if it's just standing there with no-one touching it, sneezing close to it is good enough. Just after it's been attacked and it goes yellow during the attacked process, you need to get enough hate to be able to claim that mob.

At least I think that's how it works. I haven't been home yet since expansion has been released, so this is only what I've read/heard/assumed. If I'm wrong at all, my apologies.
 
well basiclly you wont be able to claim with a weak chi blast( fastest claiming skill out there, tied with charm i think)but still theres provoke flash stun(maybe)etc . still alittle iffy on provoke. as i provoked a skelly that aggroed someone(didnt hit them) and it stayed unclaimed till i hit it. i dont know abit tired so this might not make much sense..

EDIT: so with this new claimining method and the old one(cool down time before claim) its all dumb luck on who gets the claim. pretty lame



EDIT2: how does this new claiming method effect MPK?

Read the patch notes. It explains the changes for mpk. Not really dumb luck on the claim either. This was supposdly only a change to the act of claiming a mob that already had hate on someone else while being unclaimed (eg: you firega two mobs, one stays unclaimed, but you have hate). Its a good change in theory, but they might not have perfected the implimentation.
 
Chi blast, Charm, Provoke, Shadowbind, and any other similiar instant use abilities are all the same speed. Chi Blast just seems faster because it has a shorter animation, but the hate, damage, and enmity are all applied before the animation even occurs. The same applies to the rest of the abilities, minus damage.
 
So does this mean if you get a whm divine seal cure 5 on some one other and other again when they got a HNM claimed the whm gets hate if they can beat the one nin on say serket and then they can get people in there party to SATA WS etc it when mob is on like 5% HP and they get a easy fight?
 
You CAN'T get Hate from Cure V, It's next to impossible. I have gotten hate from Cure V once but it was only cause the tank sucked.
 
Hey puppets are weird. yesterday my puppet HIT something, but didnt get claim. Right after that another persons puppet hit the mob and didnt get claim. Then my puppet hit it again and I finally got claim.
 
yeah its to weird as if you attack mob no claim and then some one vokes it and they get it in red they get no drop to
 
I know hate decreases when you get hit, could that be a factor?

Does hate go away over time if you do nothing? Hate could have got to 0 before you did you second action on the mob.
 
I was on the boat and I saw a pug. A smn sent garuda to attack it, while I provoked. I provoked it and his garuda still hit it then I hit it and I got claim was so weird.
 
Basicaly it makes the Paladin steal trick work a whole lot better now, better not forget your /blockaid.
 
think about it...the only job this class helps is RDM...why? Chainspell.....they Chainspell some teir 3 nuke get hate and claim while its been chi blasted, provoked, stuned, shadowbinded, and claim within 2 seconds
