SE turns a possible win into massive fail.

Theres a lot of hate for Chrono Cross in this thread which quite frankly can go suck my nuts.

I thought Chrono Cross was a good game in it's own respect but it really shouldn't be tied with Chrono Trigger at all. =/

They also had a bit of injustice in regards to many characters not getting nearly as much plot as they deserved. But eh.

Thats what happens when you have 44 chars though ;/

Can't have quality and quantity. D:

Suikoden does it well, and that's with 108, but in that you're recruiting an army and most has their own reason for joining, with some joining to open shops or restaurants or various other things as opposed to fighting.

I liked Chrono Cross, and I liked using the non-popular characters, like Pip or Skelly or the Onion guy, but that game did not do it well.

Yeah Chrono Cross was really solid.

I don't think Suikoden does character backgrounds any better than Chrono Cross did. Sure everyone has a bit of story behind them, but in both games only the oens that matter to the story get focus, which really can't be helped with such a giant cast.

I've only played Suikoden III, as a random pick from a comic book shop called Vikings...

The graphics and most of the music is average to slightly below average, but the storyline is kickass. One of the reasons I kept it was because of the storyline and the fact that they're kinda rare, but little retail value.

That game was a good example of how graphics and music isn't everything, still...would it kill to make it look competent with the other games released on the same platform?=/

The only character who really mattered in Chrono Cross.
