Someone please explain to me what the fuck Sea Gorgets do... I am getting supremely irritated with people always testign on those damn wild rabbits.

From what i understand it alters your pDif on Weaponskills, but does it do it on the floor or on the ceiling? Do I need to be capped on attack in order to see a difference? Or does it improve my WS period? And last but not least, why dont' i see a difference in my Wepon Skills when I use one? Are they equal to only 10 accuracy? wtf? thesr things are pissing me off.

Currenly:
I use Love on Thief for Thief Weaponskills, 'cause dex is the modifier.
I use Justice on Sam WS because Str is the modifier.
I use Justice for Scythe Weaponskills as well.
From what I understand, those two are pretty much the only exception to the rule when it comes to "Sea Torque < Sea Gorget".

So Rampage and Vorpal Blade...
Shoudl I be using Soil Gorget? Or just stick with PCC? Anyone have any hard evidence?

My understanding (completely untested, take with salt) is that on the *first hit* of a WS, you get +0.1 to fTP and ~+10 acc. Which sounds rather decidedly underwhelming, especially for multi-hitters, so I suspect I may be missing something.

As a SAM, you'll definitely want to be using gorgets on WS, as they are mostly all one hits. From what I have been told and read, the added DMG only affects the initial hit, and the acc affects all hits. (I see this most when I use flame gorget on asuran fists (damn you faith)).

I've yet to see anyone show that the accuracy translates to any hit after the first on a ws, and from my own personal experience with breeze and jin, the added accuracy is minor if it affects all hits.

It's rumored to be +10 acc on all hits. I'm just going by what's on sites/bg/etc, I have never really done experiments on this other then using it on asuran.

All i know is that i really like my breeze for shark bite... i play on PS2 but i can tell you that it is a noticeable difference. I have soil for asuran fists but i dont use that one too often.

Maybe cause Asuran sucks.

I use PCA for everything. Soil for SATA Full Swing.

i use my Justice on every set .... *hug his 304 scythe skill*

Check out Deci's website. He has (or had, not sure if its still there) a step by step with all the calculations on weaponskill enhancement via gorgets.

From what I've seen, it doesn't really help Rampage in the least. Couldn't say for Vorpal Blade, though I'd assume it'd be more of the same.

I noticed a vast increase on Rampage and Vorpal in sky when I got mine (pre-ToAU).
What the gorget does is allow for more STR to be added in other places, while still adding a slight dmg modification itself. I reran all my tests to find Optimum WS gear after switching in the gorget (details here: http://www.qcdn.org/ffxi/showthread.php?t=49769&page=2 ). I needed less accuracy to maintain a consistant full tp return on Rampage. That allowed for more +STR, which in turn also makes an impact.

You can't EVER just substitute one piece of gear in, especially on ws's and expect to see the results, as everything is relative to the set of gear you're using.

I hafto admit, it's kinda hard for me to figure out how to reply to this (though I have a migraine at the moment so it's hard to think in general. ><)

I already WS in full STR gear with the exception of my neckpiece (PCA) and legs (Haidate or Warrior's Cuisses. Been unable to get ahold of a NBody or NHead yet, blagh...) and regardless of which legs I WS in, my damage seems to hover around the same range. Also, regardless of whether I WS in Gorget or PCA, my damage hovers around the same range as well. Maybe it's just my luck though?

*edit* Clarifying a bit further - I typically use Haidate during WS if I'm eating meat, and Cuisses during WS if I'm using Sushi. Irregardless, I've never seen any noticeable change whenever I used the elemental Gorget during WSes. =/ (I am a bit of an ignorant turd when it comes to the more complicated melee things though, so maybe I'm simply screwing up somewhere along the lines)

I can notice just a +5 acc/STR differential. I have no intentions of getting n.feet because Amir's accuracy to me is invaluable there. I also notice better numbers with Haidate than Cuisses, and don't load on STR by any means. I go for consistant high DMG (STR+50 DEX+48 is my usual setup prefood) rather than spiked, which may be why I can notice any change in the ws gear. Really, you shouldn't be landing consistantly with All out STR gear on Rampages, although if you're doing Puks/Colibri's that might be why.

I noticed a notable difference when I picked up my snow gorget when using Guillotine. I tested it several times mainly in Dynamis where I was WSing alot. I had a higher average dmg.

I get confused when people say it only effects the first hit, because in my experience that simply wasnt true. I seemed to get a bump of 100-150 avg dmg on my WS's simply swapping in the single piece on its own. I didnt see a change in acc at the time when testing because I was using Sushi I presume, so I cant really speak to the acc.

Got roughly +52* acc for WS and full axe merits, plus Hedgehog Pie. I typically get 16-17% vs MamuJa, though I probably could a better average with Amir Boots - I'll hafto try that out.

Also...who the HELL XPs on Colibri? Between idiots getting crap like Hoarde Lullabies reflected and people /t'ing me for food after they burn out a stack in half an hour, just...god, why. God. =/

You get consistant 16-17% returns using meat on Mamools?

That's pretty insane
